9 best glasses for dlps
Glasses for DLPs, often referred to as DLP glasses or 3D glasses, are specialized eyewear designed for use with DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology-based displays, particularly for viewing 3D content. Here are some key points about glasses for DLPs:
Purpose: DLP glasses are used to enhance the viewing experience of 3D content displayed on DLP projectors, DLP televisions, or DLP-equipped monitors. They are essential for perceiving the depth and dimensionality of 3D images and videos.
Active vs.Passive: There are two primary types of DLP glasses: active and passive.
- Active DLP Glasses: These glasses use electronic components, typically batteries, to synchronize with the DLP display. They alternately darken one lens while keeping the other clear, in sync with the display's rapid alternation of left-eye and right-eye images. This method is known as "active shutter" technology.
- Passive DLP Glasses: Passive glasses are usually simpler in design and do not require batteries or electronic components. They work by using polarizing filters to separate the left-eye and right-eye images, allowing each eye to see a slightly different perspective.
Compatibility: DLP glasses are often designed to be compatible with specific DLP display models. It's important to ensure that the glasses you choose are compatible with your DLP display to achieve optimal 3D viewing.
Synchronization: Active DLP glasses require synchronization with the DLP display, which is typically achieved through infrared (IR) signals or radiofrequency (RF) signals. Passive glasses do not require synchronization.
Battery Life: Active DLP glasses are powered by batteries, so their battery life is a consideration. Battery life can vary depending on the brand and model of glasses but is typically sufficient for several hours of 3D viewing.
Comfort and Fit: Comfort is essential for an enjoyable viewing experience. DLP glasses are designed to be lightweight and comfortable to wear for extended periods. Adjustable frames and nose pieces are common features for a better fit.
Maintenance: DLP glasses, particularly active ones, may require occasional battery replacement or recharging. Passive glasses are generally maintenance-free.
Accessories: Some DLP glasses come with additional accessories, such as cleaning cloths or protective cases, to help keep them clean and safe when not in use.
Usage: To use DLP glasses, you typically need to select the appropriate 3D mode on your DLP display and put on the glasses. Active glasses will sync automatically, while passive glasses are ready for use immediately.
Availability: DLP glasses are often available from the same manufacturers that produce DLP displays and projectors. They can also be found from third-party manufacturers that produce compatible glasses.
In summary, glasses for DLPs are specialized eyewear designed to enhance the 3D viewing experience when using DLP technology-based displays. They come in both active and passive varieties, with features tailored for compatibility, comfort, and synchronization with DLP displays. These glasses are an essential accessory for enjoying 3D content on DLP-equipped devices.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you rotate, reverse eyes / invert polarity or whatever it is called on these glasses |
Answer: | It would be like wearing two sets of glasses, but I'm sure you could, as long as your glasses are not polarized. My kid does that with these. You could also likely alter them to clip them onto existing glasses also, but that would be a bit of work and a small bit heavy. |
Question: | Where can I buy replacement batteries |
Answer: | Active glasses use LCD "shutters" to create the 3D effect. Essentially each eye alternates "opening" and "closing". This syncs with your TV or projector allowing the right image through the right eye and the left image through the left eye (the alternating LCD shutters happens at a speed of between 96 and 144 times per second and is imperceptible. It will appear as you are simply looking through tinted glasses.) Passive TV uses polarized filtering. There are no LCD mechanisms, no batteries and no charging. Polarized glasses are the type used at movie theaters. They can also be used for passive polarized TVs. There are a few disadvantages (the resolution usually suffers slightly since each layer is only half resolution) but the glasses do not need to be turned on which makes it a bit simpler. Hope this helps! |
Question: | Will these classes work for my Mitsubishi 740 series TV |
Answer: | Yes they should it looks like it is a DLP projector. |
Question: | Compatibility with Projector Philips Screeneo |
Answer: | Yes |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do these glasses work with the benq ht1085st 3d projector |
Answer: | Yes as long as you specific model is “DLP Link” ready. Google says models in the 740 series are DLP link ready so you’re probably good to go. |
Question: | What kind of batteries are in the glasses? Does it contain li-ion batteries |
Answer: | I looked at your Philips manual online and your projector is a DLP type. The XPAND 3D glasses was designed for DLP projectors which send out a signal known as DLP-Link. Be sure your 3D menu is set to "3D" operation and not "2D". The light sensor on the front of the XPAND glasses detects a very short light pulse (DLP-Link) for each movie frame to synchronize the left and right eye to the 3D picture. |

Question: | Does it work with optoma hd141x???? Do i need some kind of adaptor |
Answer: | Hello,Thanks so much for your purchase! Here are the first steps that we recommend taking with almost all DLP 3D Projectors:- Take off the protective film covers on the front and back of both lenses of your 3D glasses- Put on your favorite 3D program- Turn on the DLP Link option (via your projectors on screen menu options) - Sit back and enjoy the 3D experience of a lifetime! If we can be of any further assistance just let us know. Thanks, Carl |
Question: | Can I use these glasses with a Hitachi Cp dx |
Answer: | Yes. I went the ACER website and checked the specs for this projector. It says that it supports DLP 3D.Marty |
Question: | Will these work with viewsonic pjd 5255 projector? thanks |
Answer: | There is nothing in the XPAND manual about Reverse Polarity. I know what you mean about polarity for the left/right eye images, but it can also be a setting within the 3D source device like projector or computer. I know my projector has Invert Polarity setting. Look for that. Also restarting from a power Off/On can solve some problems. I have a friend that has to reset his TV sometimes to get it in-sync with the 3D glasses. I haven't had that type of problem with my InFocus Projector. Hope this gives you some ideas. |
Question: | Does it work with view sonic pjd7820hd projector |

Answer: | Sorry I don't have viewsonic.I have Epson 2045. Prjector.They don't work on mine.I stuck 4 pairs of this kind now. |
Question: | Has anyone used these on the jmgo v8 projector |
Answer: | I have a view sonic project (PJD5155L SVGA DLP Projector) and they work fine. I have noticed that in movies that have more action they flicker a little to refresh with the movie. I figured this is just something that lower quality glasses do. |
Question: | These will work with my mitsubishi wd-65638 ?? =o |
Answer: | They work great with the BENQ HT3050 and I have no reason to suspect they wouldn't work with any of the BENQ DLP projectors. |
