Answer: | There are two different models entered as different "colors." (I hate when vendors do this!) One has two analog outputs (RCA and 3.5 mm), the other two digital outputs (optical and coaxial). Both models have two digital inputs, one optical and one coaxial. The all-digital model has an input selector switch. I don't know what would happen if you connected both inputs on the analog model, which appears to lack this switch. Anyway, in both models it appears that both outputs are active simultaneously, no matter which input is used. So the answer to your question (which is about the all-digital model) appears to be YES. |

Answer: | As the name suggests, this is 1 in(put) 2 out(puts). I use one of these to direct the sound from TV (the 1 input) into two different sound devices, a sound bar and Bluetooth sending unit for silent TV watching. (2 outputs). What you are proposing is 2 in(puts) into 1 output. It _might_ work if you insured that the only one device was sending a signal at any one time, but that is not what this was designed to do. What you are looking for is an optical _switch_, not a splitter. |
