Answer:	You bet it can. Likely overkill for television, but a great choice.
Question:	How does pl259 connectors go bad? swr is high all sudden after 13 months use. i replaced this with lmr
Answer:	There are a lot of factors that can make a pl259 connector go bad. If the cable and connector are outside, not properly sealing the connection to protect it from the elements will take a big toll. Another factor may be the antenna and how well it's tuned to the frequencies you are transmitting on. A poorly tuned antenna will cause rf to be dissipated as heat, causing the connector to heat up and cool down as the transmitter is keyed and UN-keyed this causes the metal and solder in the connector to expand and contract and eventually break. Also rf alone if it's high enough can cause a similar issue. Hope this helps.
Question:	I will need to cut off the connector on one end to snake the cable through a tuna tower pipe. What self installed replacement connector should I use
Answer:	We can provide a pre-configured solder on connector to complete the installation. If done this way we would strip the cable and leave the connector off one end so you can install the PL-259 after running the cable. We also build 2 piece runs where we provide the cables with 1/4 inch SMA connectors. In this case we would ship two cables with SMA male and female connectors, plus a PL-259 on the other end. The installer simply runs the cable down the mast of through the raceway and screws the SMA connectors together to complete the installation. This jumper cable is specifically used for amateur radio to connect a handie talkie (walkie talkie) with an SMA male connector to an external (power) amplifier which accepts a male PL-259 connector. I don't understand how you can connect a radio to a mounting bracket? If you want to connect your CB radio to an external antenna that is mounted on your mirror (etc.), then you will need a jumper cable that has PL-259 connectors on both ends. This jumper cable should be constructed of either RG-58 or RG-8X (mini cable.) These jumper cables come pre-built in various lengths. I hope this answers your question.l

Using a RG-58 jumper for a 5 GHz WiFi Antenna will reduce your signal by around 1 DB per Foot. RG-8x is a bit better and RG-213 is specified for some very short runs by a few manufacturers but Times Microwave LMR cables were designed for high frequency communication and will work best.

The issue most face is that the conduit or raceway inside your mast is smaller or the same diameter as your connectors! UHF connectors used on most Marine AIS and Radio equipment are 3/4 of an inch, the same size as the free space within most masts. The coaxial cable fits but the connectors don't!

Answer:	Yes Hello, I do not think you will need any adapters to connect the mxt400 to the MPD LMR-400 65ft cable. I have the 50ft version I use for 2 meter 440mghz with great performance. Just remember the longer the cable the more loss you will have.

Answer:	I don't recommend this coax for direct bury. When designing for a more flexible Marine version of the LMR coax I spec'd out a Non-Contaminating PVC jacket in place of the solid PE jacket of standard 400. This is a softer more flexible jacket like that used on RG-213 and RG-8u. Sometimes you really Need our Times LMR Cable Assemblies

Using a RG-58 jumper for a 5 GHz WiFi Antenna will reduce your signal by around 1 DB per Foot. RG-8x is a bit better and RG-213 is specified for some very short runs by a few manufacturers but Times Microwave LMR cables were designed for high frequency communication and will work best.

For GPS, Cellular or SatPhone Services

RG cable was designed for use at UHF and lower frequencies. Using an RG- jumper of any type on a Satellite Phone or GPS Antenna is like mounting bicycle tires on a sports car. RG cables fair little better for Cell Antennas. Cellular phones lowest broadcast signal is twice as high as RG coax is rated and ranges up to 4 times the specified frequency ratings.

Question:	What wattage will this handle. and will be ok on use from 10 to 160 meters
Answer:	It depends on how well your rig is matched to your feedline and antenna (i.e., the SWR). I have no problem operating from 10-160m with 100 watts and a SWR of 2:1 or below. Check the charts in the ARRL antenna or main manual for exact specs and tolerances (if I recall, you can run the full legal power limit with a reasonable match and SWR).
