Answer:	Wire run directly under carpet is unsafe, even for speaker wires. Wire run under carpeting gets stepped on crushed and ground by the fine grit that passes through the carpet, and the soft vinyl insulation fails under the carpet where heat builds up until the carpet ignites. It's a major source of electrical fires and the primary reason why the electrical code now requires new installations to use arc fault circuit breakers that detect the failing insulation and shut off the power. When speaker wires are run under the carpet the fault power is limited only by the output power of the amplifier. Any audio amplifier you'd buy 14AWG speaker wire for can deliver far more than enough power for failing insulation to build up heat and ignite a fire under a carpet. Amplifiers don't pass the high frequency current noise of a developing fault to the power line so an arc fault circuit interrupter won't shut off the power. The safe solutions are all boring, unpleasant, or difficult to implement. You can route the wires a different direction to follow the perimeter of a room, even around a door frame to avoid an opening. You can use one of the products that protects wires under a carpet together with under-carpet padding to keep a flat carpet surface. You can also route UL listed cable (NB: this product isn't) through walls, above ceilings and under floors to emerge where you need it, although a renter may need the owner's consent to do something like that. You may find that concealing wires is easier when the wire is smaller. This is a CCA wire, which has same resistance as aluminum wire. Pound for pound Aluminum is one of the best conductors, but it isn't a dense metal. In the same wire size aluminum or CCA is only half as good a conductor as copper. A 14AWG aluminum or CCA wire has the same resistance as a 16AWG copper wire that's much smaller and more flexible and far easier to conceal.

The other cable that is unmarked (without dashes or white lines) is the negative (-) cable. Question:	Can this wire be buried directly in soil
Answer:	For my in ground install I bought the cable they use for low voltage outdoor landscape lighting (bought it at Home Depot). It is inexpensive, carries the signal fantastically, and is designed for direct burial. Unless properly insulated, aluminum doesn't do well when it is in direct contact with the soil. FYI - I am an electrical contractor with 35 years experience so I know a little about direct burial cable. Hope that helps.

Answer:	I don't believe it matters. Just make sure it's consistent. Ex: blue on both negative of the speaker and negative from the receiver. If this is on a boat, I wouldn't waste my time installing it. Once I found out it wasn't really marine grade (tinned) I read more reviews of all the corrosion possibilities and the false advertising. I threw it away and installed REAL marine speaker wire. I'm very upset they got away labeling it marine grade and then when it is delivered it says nothing about marine.

Answer:	There IS a difference between CCA and OFC in terms of speaker wire. If you are running high wattage over a long (>50ft) run length, the cheaper grade CCA will likely become hotter and not handle it well. This 16ga wire should have the same sonic clarity as a smaller 18ga pure copper wire. You get what you pay for.
Question:	Any updates on CL2 or CL3 rated? There is no straight forward answer on it yet
Answer:	There is NO fire risk when using this wire for low voltage applications i.e., speaker connections. Most jurisdictions don't care about CL2/CL3 unless you are running 110VAC. This is speaker wire. Don't sweat it!
Question:	what is the difference in watts when it comes to speakers wires
Answer:	The answers here are variably correct and incorrect!! The resistance of the speakers (ohms) needs to match the impedance the amplifier circuit is rated to handle. Too small a wire (length is a variable) will induce a resistance that the amplifier will face, like a speaker, and this will alter the "balance" of the intended match!!!! Pushing speakers rated at 500 watts under a constant load of 250 watts will induce heat "resistance" if the line between the amp and the speaker is very small and sound quality will be compromised!!!! Up to 100 feet of lead at a constant load of 500 watts would ideally be handled using 10 gauge copper, braided wire facing from 4 ohms to 16 ohms. Bottom line: Discriminating "audiophiles" popularly tout the use of 12 gauge braided lead for almost all in-home installations ... this allows for component upgrades in the future! As said here, 16 gauge braided lead, in most installations, will produce results that are completely acceptable in matching power and impedance and results!!!

Answer:	No need for OFC; The high-end speaker wire industry markets oxygen-free copper as having enhanced conductivity or other electrical properties that are supposedly advantageous to audio signal transmission. However, conductivity specifications for common C11000 Electrolytic-Tough-Pitch (ETP) and higher-cost C10200 Oxygen-Free (OF) coppers are identical. Much more expensive C10100, a highly refined copper with silver impurities removed and oxygen reduced to 0.0005%, has only a one percent higher conductivity—insignificant in audio applications. OFC is nevertheless sold for both audio and video signals in audio playback systems and home cinema.

Answer:	This cable is suitable for 24 volt applications, and for Aleko swing gate opener control circuits in which the installation manual calls for 2-core cable with a cross-sectional area of 0.75mm . Ensure the cable installation is appropriate for the specific site conditions. We recommend contacting a licensed electrician to certify the installation.

Answer:	Not a straight forward answer. The 16 gauge wire has a nominal "rating" of 10 amps and should be fused at 10 amps. Few solid state radios pull that much current, but if you're going to add pre-amps and kickers I would say no, you need heavier conductors. If you're going directly to the battery you need to the parasite loads in mind if you want the truck to start after it's been parked for a while. (How much power does your system draw when turned off, it is NOT zero). Good Luck.

Answer:	It "can" be used for direct burial to provide power for 12vdc lights. The bigger question is should you use it. Most outdoor lights use flat sheathed wire not round sheathed wire. That allows for easy use of crimp type wire where the connector penetrates the insulation and makes the electrical connection without splicing the wire. If your application doesn't require that type of connector, this product would be fine.

Answer:	Hello D. Dillinger,Thank you for your question. In regards to your inquiry, there is no metal in the cable. It is CCA, the copper coated aluminum. Copper coated aluminum, although not as high of a conductoras pure copper wire, offers a less pricier alternative than pure copper and will not fully be necessary if using it for shorter length runs or basic 5.1 or 7.1 home theater setups, or a hi-fidelity system. Question:	how is this packaged, Spool or pull box
Answer:	Yes. Just use your old school wire strippers such as teeth to strip about 1/2" off the end then twist the exposed strands the old school way between your fingers before pressing the spring clip and inserting the wire. Adjust volume to 11 and test using AC/DC, Van Halen, Rush, or similar.
Question:	What is the diameter of the 14AWG
Answer:	No, it is *not* discontinued, but we are out of stock until the end of June or early July. This turned out to be way more popular than we anticipated. If you need a black outer jacket, we make the exact same wire packaged in a 500 foot pull box. Here's the link for that: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07J5YP5XB. It is more expensive up front, at $109.99, but significantly less expensive per foot ($0.22/ft vs. $0.29/ft). Plus we think the pull box is pretty great.
