14 best rv tv antennas
RV TV antennas are designed specifically for recreational vehicles (RVs) to receive television signals while on the move or parked in different locations. These antennas allow RV owners to access over-the-air (OTA) TV channels without relying on cable or satellite services. Here's an overview of RV TV antennas and related information:
Types of RV TV Antennas:
- Omni-directional antennas: These antennas can receive signals from all directions without needing to be manually adjusted. They are convenient for RVers who frequently change locations.
- Directional antennas: These antennas require manual adjustment to point towards the broadcasting tower. They can provide stronger signals from specific directions.
Antenna Installation:
- RV TV antennas are typically installed on the roof of the RV to ensure the best reception and signal strength.
- Installation usually involves mounting the antenna and connecting it to the RV's TV system.
Signal Reception:
- RV TV antennas receive signals from local TV stations that broadcast over-the-air signals in the area.
- The quality and number of channels received depend on various factors, including the antenna's location, height, obstructions, and distance from broadcasting towers.
Amplifiers:
- Some RV TV antennas come with built-in amplifiers to boost weak signals and improve reception quality, especially in areas with low signal strength.
Antenna Operation:
- RV owners typically need to raise the antenna for use and lower it when driving or when not in use to prevent damage.
- Some antennas have a rotating mechanism to adjust the direction for better reception.
Signal Boosters:
- In areas with weak signals, RV owners may use additional signal boosters or amplifiers to enhance the signal strength and improve reception.
Maintenance:
- Regular maintenance of RV TV antennas is essential to ensure optimal performance. This may include cleaning the antenna, inspecting for any damage, and checking connections.
Upgrades and Accessories:
- RV TV antenna systems may be upgraded with newer models to enhance signal reception and overall performance.
- Accessories like coaxial cables, splitters, connectors, and mounting brackets are commonly used in conjunction with RV TV antennas.
RV TV antennas are crucial for RV enthusiasts who want to enjoy television programming while traveling or camping. Understanding the different types of antennas and how to properly install and maintain them ensures a reliable TV signal wherever the RV adventure takes them.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this antenna be used as a direct replacement for a Keystone in-command system |
Answer: | There's no way to replace the sealed battery, but I've had mine for over 5 years and it's working. |
Question: | Does unit work well without mast and crank |
Answer: | I purchased 8 months ago. From my personal experience and some reviews I believe some of these are a little "off" allowing the standard Brita FILTER to become swollen and float up - pushing the top cover to Pop up just enough to make it no longer fit ! This happened many times rendering the filter useless because the space around the swollen filter allows water to just to go Around the filter . Mine just cracked and I've been too lazy to return so I'm out $$ |
Question: | Does this work with the king oa1000 omnipro |
Answer: | Hello there. In our current models, the batteries are not replaceable. All BRITA Pitchers have a 1-year warranty and the battery last an average length of 5 years. Please refer to our website for further information. Nat from Brita team |
Question: | Does the aentenna come with mount plate |
Answer: | Yes. It counts the number of times the reservoir lid is opened. It flashes green when the filter is good, yellow when it is almost time to change it and red when the filter is used up. When you change the filter, press and hold the button until you see it flash green two times. I have had my pitcher for about 9 months and the indicator has been accurate so far. |

Answer: | It depends on the terrane of the land. I am 30 miles plus from a TV antenna, and pick up reception fine. Fairly flat terrane, you should be able to receive a signal up to 50 miles. In the mountains, it could be significantly less than 50. |
Question: | What is the optimal range |
Answer: | Approximately 12" round 10" high, I purchased one but will be returning it very soon, did not work, towers were less than 30 miles from my location, and picked up nothing, went to Walmart got a different type and picked up channels 55+miles away. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Another question for the people using the sensar IV in their homes. What power supply did you use? I am afraid of over amping it. What amp fuse? Thx |
Answer: | The Rayzar z1 is an amplified antenna. The amplifier is in the antenna head itself, and it comes with a power supply wall plate that needs to be installed to power that internal amplifier. |
Question: | Already have one ,do I have to replace the mounting or just the head ? Tks |
Answer: | The narrow point of the antenna with the elements is the front of the antenna, that is what you need to point at the broadcast towers. |
Question: | Is this a complete system? Doess it come with hadle, gears, shaft to turn tge gears etc |
Answer: | It is an amplified antenna requires 120v to get long range signal. You may pick up some close broadcasting antennas but doubt they would work long |
Question: | Can i replace a sensar iii with this and not replace the base? just the tubes and top part on my iii were ripped off |
Answer: | The Rayzar z1 has a max range of 50 miles. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I have a real old tv. will it work |
Answer: | Tests show the Black Berkey filters remove up to 95% of lead and a host of other heavy metals. |
Question: | I have an older hitachi big screen tv with coax connection. Will this work for it on it's own or do i need one of those digital boxes also? Thanks |
Answer: | There's plastic in it (the screws) so that sets off prop 65. The Plastic itself is safe but in the manufacturing some things are used that aren't. Prop 65 is waay too vast to be useful. |
Question: | Can you use this with the fire stick plugged in |
Answer: | In an independent test done last year, the Black Berkey filter elements with the PF-2 attachments filtered out the following:Uranium: 100%Lead: 100%Mercury: 99.8%Cesium: 98.6%Aluminum: 86.6%Copper: 100%Arsenic: 100%Strontium: 100%Cadmium: 100%The test they performed in this case was only for heavy metals, so it of course filters out much more than just these things, as shown in other tests. This just highlights the heavy metals. Hope this helps! |
Question: | Will it work with a fire stick plugged in |
Answer: | It depends on how much water you filter & how many filters you use (2 or 4). Also, normal city water varies due to local water hardness. We fill up the filter 1 to 2 times per day (usually twice) with 4 & change them every 6 months, but if we didn't have kids, our filters would probably last us about twice as long. However, this is still cheaper than other filtering methods we've used & does a much better job. |

Question: | Is this antenna comes with an amplifier and permanent mount to mount to the roof of the camper |
Answer: | Yes but I saw little difference |
Question: | does this require a power wire or just coax wire |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this antenna pick up the new digital HD broadcast channels |
Answer: | Hello, Your best bet would be the MB8200, it does not come with the system, but it mounts to the base and makes the base a larger square to cover up old holes. |
Question: | Is there an install video, i checked youtube and the winegard website, no joy |
Answer: | It does! This system comes with everything needed for a full OTA system with the exception of the TV and coax. |
Question: | MH has an old winegard mount/crank, previous owner removed antenna. MH has signal booster built in- will this work or do we need power supply to unit |
Answer: | This does not come with any 12vdc power supply. you will need a 12vdc / 100ma input source, unless your rv/truck has this power wiring already available. Hence the 2 spade prongs on the back of the wall mounted king power injector. A single coax cable runs from the antenna to a 12v power injector unit that is supplied with the King Omnipro. The supplied 12v power injector must be installed unless your RV already has an existing 12v antenna power source. |
Question: | My rv didn't come with an antenna. is it possible to install this as a new antenna? are there instruction? do i have to drill a hole thru the roof |
Answer: | Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. |
