8 best us mint of the 1960s

The United States Mint in the 1960s played a significant role in producing coin sets and circulating coinage during that era. Here's some information related to the US Mint of the 1960s in the context of coin sets, collectible currencies, and collectibles fine art:

  1. Coin Sets: During the 1960s, the US Mint continued to issue various coin sets for collectors. One notable set was the annual Proof Set, which typically included proof versions of the circulating coins, such as the penny, nickel, dime, quarter, half dollar, and dollar. These sets were packaged in protective plastic cases and were popular among collectors.

  2. Silver Coinage: In the early 1960s, the US Mint was still producing circulating silver coinage, including silver dimes, quarters, and half dollars. However, due to rising silver prices, the Mint began to phase out silver content in these coins. The last 90% silver coins for general circulation were minted in 1964.

  3. Kennedy Half Dollar: One of the most famous coins from the 1960s was the Kennedy half dollar. It was introduced in 1964 following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The 1964 Kennedy half dollar was made of 90% silver and became highly sought after by collectors.

  4. Coin Designs: The US Mint in the 1960s featured various coin designs, including those on circulating coins and commemorative issues.Notable coin designs of the decade include the Lincoln Memorial on the reverse of the penny and the Washington quarter.

  5. Collectible Currencies: While the US Mint primarily focused on coinage, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, responsible for paper currency, continued to issue banknotes during this period. The designs of US banknotes evolved over the decade, with notable changes to the appearance of bills like the $1 and $5.

  6. Collectibles Fine Art: While the primary focus of the US Mint and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing was currency and coin production, their products, especially rare or limited-edition coins and banknotes, can be considered collectibles that fall under the category of fine art for collectors and enthusiasts.

Please note that specific details about particular coin sets, collectible currencies, or fine art related to the US Mint in the 1960s would require more specific information or reference to particular collectibles from that era.

DAVE VAN RONK Sings The Blues LP record 1965 Near Mint US press VERVE FV-9006

Verve

Product description

Van Ronk Sings was an album by American folksinger Dave Van Ronk, released in 1961. It was also released on LP as Dave Van Ronk Sings the Blues and Dave Van Ronk Sings Earthy Ballads and Blues. All these versions are out of print, but most of the songs can be found on the 1991 Smithsonian Folkways CD release The Folkways Years, 1959 - 1961 and A Chrestomathy, released on CD in 1992. Dave Van Ronk's approach to performing traditional folk songs and blues tunes is sufficiently unusual to require a sleeve note from the singer to justify it. Unlike other white, Northern, urban folksingers, who perform such material but do so in their own natural voices, Van Ronk takes much of his style from the black, Southern, rural singers who have performed it before him... he can sing in a way that serves the material and, despite the attempt at imitation, comes off as his own individual sound.

User questions & answers

Question: Is five these coins 90% silver
Answer: This set contains proof pennies for each year, except for 1965 and 1966. There were no proof coins in 1965 and 1966, so for those years they are uncirculated. It should be noted that the proof coins in 1968 and after were from the San Francisco mint (s). Prior to 1965 and from 1936, proof pennies were from the Philadelphia mint (no mint mark).
Question: Most of those dimes are not silver? 65-69 does not contain any silver
Answer: Each panel is 42" wide. Total width of 2 panels curtains is 84". So these 2 panels curtains will fit well. They will not be tooo wide.
