4 best watches for blind
Watches for the blind, also known as tactile watches or braille watches, are specially designed timepieces that allow visually impaired individuals to tell time through touch. These watches are notable for their accessibility features and their relevance to the Women's Clothing, Shoes, and Jewelry category. Here's what you need to know about watches for the blind:
Tactile Time Display: The primary feature of these watches is the tactile time display. Instead of traditional watch hands or a digital display, they have raised markings or pins on the watch face that can be felt with the fingers. These markings represent the hours, minutes, and sometimes seconds.
Braille Markings: Some watches for the blind use Braille to indicate time. The Braille characters are positioned at specific locations corresponding to the hour and minute hands, allowing users to read the time using their sense of touch.
High Contrast: Many tactile watches have high-contrast designs with bold markings and hands to make it easier for those with low vision to distinguish between different elements on the watch face.
Specially Designed Hands: The hour and minute hands on these watches are often designed with distinct shapes or textures to facilitate easy differentiation by touch. For example, the hour hand may be shaped differently from the minute hand.
Tactile Buttons: Some models feature tactile buttons on the watch case or bezel, which can be pressed to announce the time audibly through a built-in speaker or via vibration.
Audible Time Announcement: In addition to tactile features, some watches for the blind include audible time announcement functionality. Users can press a button to hear the current time spoken aloud.
Durability: These watches are typically built to be durable and withstand everyday wear and tear.
Strap Options: They come with various strap options, including leather, silicone, or fabric, to provide comfort and personal style choices.
Battery Life: Battery life can vary depending on the specific watch and its features. Some models have long-lasting batteries, while others may need more frequent charging.
Stylish Design: While functionality is key, manufacturers also offer stylish designs for individuals who want their watches to complement their fashion choices.
Price Range: Watches for the blind are available at different price points, catering to various budgets.
These watches serve as important tools for individuals with visual impairments, providing them with a convenient and accessible way to keep track of time. Their tactile features and sometimes audible functionality make them invaluable accessories for daily life and personal time management.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I buy a stretch band for ‘this watch and what size should I buy |
Answer: | Cardinal Industries is based in the USA, and it sounds like they manufacture this game, but I can't swear to it. You might contact them and ask. |
Question: | Its this for french speakers |
Answer: | I don't know the exact size, but they are small. As far as checkers go, this set is subpar in my opinion. The pieces don't interlock and make for a right kerfuffel when kinged. |
Question: | How do you change from military time to standard time |
Answer: | No storage |
Question: | I have this watch and can’t figure out how to get it out of military time? Please help |
Answer: | I gave the board as a present, but played using it with my Grandson. The checkers stack well as "Kings", and I think the board was about 15" x 15" or 16" x 16", a good size. |

User questions & answers
Question: | is it water proof |
Answer: | I’ve worn the watch for two years straight have never had a problem with it. I’ve take showers and multiple times swimming, along with some ocean time with it on and it’s still ticking. |
Question: | Se puede devolver en caso de q no me guste en persona |
Answer: | Si se piece devolved.. |
Question: | Do they make larger size of this watch |
Answer: | I have no idea I will assume their all the same size. |
Question: | I've seen a review for this watch and I know the ball bearing can roll out of place but is it possible for the ball to fall out and be lost |
Answer: | Garrison, indeed, the ball beating can roll out of place - and it does far too easily in my humble opinion - but don't worry, it will not fall out and get lost. They are held securely in their grooves. Regrettably (for me) they just seem to get knocked out of place too often. But maybe I'm too active(?). Hope that helps. I do love this watch. And you have nothing to worry about here. It's well constructed. |
Product features
The Bradley Timepiece. Tell time by touch or sight.
The Bradley timepiece features raised hour markers that allow you to feel the time by touch: a triangular marker for twelve, elongated line segments for three, six, and nine, and shorter line segments for the other markers. Two magnetized ball bearings travel around the watch face in separate, recessed tracks: one track around the center of the watch face's surface for the minute, and one track around the outside edge of the watch face for the hour.
To tell the time by touch, simply run your finger over the raised hour markers, feeling the markers where the ball bearings are located. If either ball bearing moves out of place, shake your wrist and they will snap back to the correct locations.
