Answer:	The lug width is 18mm -- if you get a two-piece nylon watch strap e.g. not a NATO strap it will last longer than the stock rubber strap.

Answer:	I think a previous commenter may be on to something. I've worn this model for decades, and generally each watch has lasted at least half a dozen years. I've worn them swimming in the pool and in the ocean, and diving down to 20 m. Once or twice before, a watch I'd had for many years got some water inside after a prolonged period in the water. My latest F91-W got water inside and portions of the display failed the first time I had it submerged (an hour and a half in a hot tub, underwater more about half the time). So maybe Casio changed something about the materials or manufacturing process that makes it more susceptible to water. Still, I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem for exposure like kayaking, pouring rain, taking a swim, etc. In any case it's an incredible watch -- super light, very long battery life, useful functions, unobtrusive and unpretentious -- and a new one is just a day or two and a dozen dollars away if you choose to use it in submersion settings and it fails. (I wouldn't press the buttons while it's submerged, though: that's asking for trouble.)

Question:	How to I change it from 24 hour mode to 12 hour mode? I cannot do it in the same way as changing the time and date
Answer:	Your 14 month old's feet should be dwarfed by this size sock if you got the size I got for my son who is 7. You should probably get a small or medium.

Answer:	No they wouldn't I don't think. Our 5 year old wears a size 9 in his age shoes and they were just right for him.

Answer:	My wrists are average size for a female and there are three holes smaller. I made the watch go to its largest size and it looks like it would fit someone who is quite large.

Answer:	Yes. It does have a count down timer and a countdown repeat timer that i use as a nurse to remind myself to do things. The entire watch is easy to set up. Ive bought this watch since ive been 20 and im 41. I also like the band material since im allergic to all the rubber type bands. Excellent, well priced watch. Enjoy.
Question:	Will this fit an 8-year old with a small wrist? Is it designed for kids
Answer:	My wrist is 6 inches in circumference and it fits perfectly. I think it was designed to fit a woman's wrist but it can fit a fine-boned man's wrist with the fastwrap strap because my husband had a similar one with a fastwrap a few years ago. If your 8 year old's wrist is much smaller than 6 inches it will still grip but she might have a little lose end tab on the end of the strap to deal with.

Answer:	I tried looking up these other brands and they looked the same, and I suspect are just labeled slightly different by different distributors. I did see "CASIO" on all of them so I would say they are all made by the same company. I would however trust a straight up "CASIO" over the "Fox Fire" or "Illuminator" brands.
Question:	does it look good on large wrist
Answer:	Yes, it can. But the Casio band that fits it costs $17.00 on Amazon. If your watch is 30 years old, I suggest spending about twenty dollars more for a new one.
Question:	The date seems to be missing the 31st? Is anyone else having that problem
Answer:	My Casio G-Shock DW5600 looses ~20 seconds in a month's time, totaling up to roughly 4 minutes a year. Anyone considering purchasing this watch should just go ahead and get one. You won't be dissapointed.
Question:	Would like to use as a stopwatch when swimming laps. Can the stopwatch button be used in water
Answer:	Push the light button once and it stays on for two seconds to backlight the display, or keep the button depressed and and the light will stay on till released

Answer:	I got it for my clock-obsessed 16 month-old and he loved it. He is skinny (25th percentile in weight) and it fit him well. He didn't like it to be tight then, so we put it on top of his sleeve. He is now 2 and it fits his arm well.

Answer:	Very small...it cinches up (no eyelets like a regular watch band). I love these watches. The band is soft elastic.
