Answer:	The straps are thick leather and they don't stretch to more than what your foot is but my foot may also be more slender than yours. I have worn this same sandal for 5 years now and. Ever had an issue.

Answer:	The leather over the tops of the foot are very soft/flexible. My sandals arrived ready to wear and comfortable, no need for breaking in as you sometimes have to do with leather shoes.

Answer:	These sandals do have traction on the bottom. I grow plants in my basement that has a concrete floor, and sometime spill water on the floor. I have had no problem with slipping on the floor when it's wet. In addition we have ceramic tile in the kitchen that is slippery with other shoes and sandals I have bought in the past. I don't have any problems with slipping on the ceramic floor when wearing these sandals.

Answer:	If needed, hand wipe with a damp washcloth. I find I need to wipe down the inner footbed of my birks every spring. I’m purchasing a pair of these to replace those tho.. very worn after many yrs lol

Answer:	No there isn’t, when you select size it asks you what your normal size is and how the shoe fits. I ordered a 7.5 (normal size) but that was too small. I ended up ordering an 8 and 8.5 and the 8.5 fits perfectly. Definitely go a full size up. The 7.5 and 8 seemed to fit the exact same.

Answer:	I don’t know the platafofor shoe. I bought this one for my mom because of balance issue and support. She likes it and has been using it, but she still needs help with her balance.

Answer:	I have this shoe in 8.5 narrow, and it fits very snugly. I can't wear socks with them, but they are comfortable without socks, and I like them. So I think a wider size might be better for you.

I just compared boxes of the Birkenstocks and Betula's in my closet. The information is the same on both. The insole:leather, foot bed:natural cork, upper, Birko-flor, sole:EVA. The same material is used on both and you wouldn't know the difference. I have worn both over 40 years and the comfort is identical. I purchased a black pair, of Mayari, from Zappos and paid over $100. They don't feel any different than the $44 Betula's I purchased from Amazon. They both feel great and who can beat the price at Amazon? Hope this helps.

But, having had the shoe about six months, the glue that bound the upper leather part of the shoe to the lower rubber/plastic sole and heel of the shoe completely came apart. This happened I believe in January 2019. I let Amazon.com know of the problem, sent photos and I have heard nothing from Amazon nor from Naturalizer. So, be ware of the glue that binds the top to the bottom of the shoe. Mine failed, as I said, in only six months....and I did not wear the shoe every day.
