I have 2 pairs of Tama II which cannot be cuffed, but my sister has the Emma tall & she cuffs hers. The only reason I would think they cannot be cuffed would be if you had wide calves. Cuffing makes the boot shaft more narrow. |

| Answer: | I am always getting waterproof and water resistant mixed up so here's my real life experience since the purchase: standing through deep snow (2 feet) my feet kept dry, accidentally walking in an icy muddy puddle feet kept dry but would not recommend doing it on purpose. Lastly I wore them to work (as a caregiver) I wore them as I stood on the front lines of giving my client a shower (large walk-in) soapy water and shampoo dripping & splashing every-where.. Forgetting I had them on I looked down and my one boot were almost covered in soapy water. After rinsing off I was afraid they were ruined and or my feet would be wet the rest of the day to my surprise I felt no moisture creep in zero wetness although wet on the outside. Ps: I did Not have my boots completely submerged during "bath time" I stood on the outside. with all that I have endured My feet have stayed completely dry I am 100% satisfied with Bear Paw currently looking forward saving enough to purchase the same boot in brown. Definitely Colorado tested and approved. |

| Question: | My foot is 8.5, and I wear 9.5 in running shoes. What size should I get |
| Answer: | Short answer: I would say order a size 8.5. Explanation as to why: I wear a size 8 in my regular shoes (9 in running), and I ordered the size 8 in these rainboots. I think most rainboots have a little extra room because they generally don't have the sort of lining or cushioning (in the foot bed or shaft of the boot, for example) to 'tighten up' the feel of the boot. In other words, the 8 fit me well with a little extra room to add a softer insole, which is exactly what I wanted. I bought one of those insoles you buy just for comfort/cushion (they're not officially orthotics, don't have arch support, etc.) for a few dollars at any grocery store or CVS, etc., so they don't take up a tremendous amount of space inside the boot. I put the insole in and wear socks that are thicker than dress socks but not intended for cold weather and the boots fit me really well. I'm not sure how they would fit with very heavy socks, as those of us who have lived in colder climates usually go for neoprene-lined rainboots or snow boots for wet weather in the winter. I tend to like Chooka boots. These are a little heavy (they're rubber, so I guess that's par for the course!), which could be good or bad depending on your needs. I wear them in daily life, running errands, walking a few blocks here and there, but I think they would hold up to rougher terrain too. I hope this helps! |

| Answer: | Although I haven't, personally, used them for rougher or rocky terrain, the sole does seem thick enough and durable enough to work for wading in a stream. The sole is sturdy enough to protect you from feeling rocks or other surface bumps you might feel in that situation. I really like mine. The sometimes feel a little heavy if I've been wearing them all day, but that would be a plus for the sorts of activities you're talking about. Enjoy! |
