Answer:	I would compare the cordovan to an actual cowboy boot. The color is a brown leather true to the picture. The cordovan is somewhat shiny and looks a little dressy and looks nice with jeans and a nice shirt. I wear my pair on the farm and they hold up well to chores as well. I do not have the java to compare, but from what I know about Ariat boots, you won't be disappointed with any of them for wear and tear. They are a little snug when you get them, but I have always ordered the size I wear and just start with thin socks until they stretch in. Don't plan to wear them directly out of the box for hours on end. Once they get broke in, you can wear them for days and days. I am very happy with the cordovan boots for color.

Answer:	I walked into a river with mine on until just before the top of the boot. For me they were still waterproof even for the elastic part but I wasn’t in for very long. I was in and out of the river for a few minutes at that depth. The boots were completely waterproof.
