Answer:	The lid and filter basket are plastic. And the black part of the urn is hard plastic. The hot water comes in contact with the basket. But most of the coffee pots i have had, have some plastic on the filter baskets. I have no issues with this pot other than there is no timer and it stays hot as long as it is plugged in. When it is finished brewing I remove the filter and grounds and leave it on for a few hours. Then I don't worry about it over brewing and getting too strong. But for the price it's a great urn.
