Answer:	Not sure how to answer this question, I usually wear a large, I ordered a large white one and it was too small, then I goat an extra large and it was too big, I sold that one to a friend. then I ordered another one in black from another supplier in extra large what I got was labeled extra large but it was 3" smaller than the white one, sent it back and got another extra large which fits great. The cover up is very attractive, warm and just right for after winter swims, I live in So. Cal so it is not too cold here. To answer your question they are not true to size but worth the effort to get one

Answer:	Thank you for your question. I generally recommend a size 10 for an 8 year old (it is 90cm in length). Should you wish it to last even longer, if its not too long a size 12 is 100cm in length.

Answer:	Not answerable. What is your temperature tolerance? I swim in ocean in So. Cal and have worn this occasionally after getting out on overcast windy winter day, in the low 60’s. Otherwise haven’t needed it here. Suggest bring layers in your bag. I always keep a wool ski cap in my ocean swim bag and that is usually the 1st thing on if cold. 1/2 the time a mod weight cotton sweatshirt. I have never been cold in the parka when I’ve worn it. The real question is what are you acclimated to? When I moved from Souther California to Nebraska, the Nebraskans were shocked that a Californian even owned a down parka. After a winter in Nebraska, when the sun came out and the temp got up into the mid 40’s we went out in T-shirts to play. The parka is bulky and heavy and not easy compact for travel. IT is great if you are cold and wet as the lining is like a thick terry cloth towel. The question is what is cold to you?
