Answer:	No it does not have a smell. Even after I wash it, it smells good. My mom loves them so I ordered her this second one. She says it is very comfortable.

Answer:	ANY 100% cotton clothing is NOT fire resistant nor fire proof. Polyester clothing does not IGNITE easily (it smolders) but 100% cotton will ignite and catches fire and will burn. As far as I know, my gown (100% cotton) has no fire retardant chemical in it. If you are worried about a smoker using this gown, maybe get a polyester nightie instead.

Answer:	No shrinkage after washing in cold water and drying on medium heat. I take it out just a tad before completely dry. I love this gown, it’s very soft, all cotton (we live in the tropics) and very well made. I’m going to order another. The first one (2X) was a bit too big (I thought it would shrink). It didn’t so I’ll order an XL.

Answer:	There are 5 buttons that go down the bodice about 9 inches. I haven't used the buttons to open up the bodice because it fits easily over my head. (They do not go down the entire length of the gown.) BTW, this is a fabulous gown!

Answer:	This is a very soft cotton knit. I never put it in the dryer. I shake it out, stretch it into shape, and hang on a hanger to air dry to avoid (possible) shrinkage (after prolonged usage). Even with air drying, it retains its softness and never requires ironing.
