Answer:	I've made both. The train is much harder. All gears will need sanded,waxed and checked each step to ensure smooth function. If you question how difficult a model is, check the part count. More parts = harder. Rubber band, geared models are harder to make run smooth as apposed to hand crank models. This train runs great but you need to fiddle with the gears and rods a while after its built to find any parts that rub, gear alignments etc...
