Question:	What is the tv jack for? the manual said it is a phone jack, but none of tv has a phone plug
Answer:	While it's true that camera "film" can't be exposed to light, DEVELOPED film becomes a "negative", which CAN be exposed to light. So far, I've converted about 200 35 mm slides to digital photos without any problems. I haven't tried using negatives yet, but I'm sure the result will be the same. It's a fantastic little machine.
Question:	Can this scan 120 film
Answer:	With a Mac, you have to save images to an SD card or the device's built-in memory (only 128 MB). Then you choose USB Upload and you can transfer the images to your computer.
Question:	Are the Reels for 8mm film scanning included or are they an extra cost? None are shown in the advertisement
Answer:	I'm not sure about that as I have only produced a digital image from a negative.
Question:	Does this connect to the computer to save the photos onto hard drive or do you need the SD card
Answer:	Not being an expert on the computer, I am not sure what "ntsc" means, but I do NOT use an sd card with my Kodak Scanner. I have the scanner plugged directly into my laptop, and the digital images go straight to the E drive, from where I easily put them into folders under My Pictures. So far I have done about 1,100 slides, and I am so very happy with the quality of the digital images. I also have had fun editing for brightness and color. Many of my digital images are better than the original slides! I am extremely happy with this product.

Answer:	No. Great sound, but light on bass and not nose cancelling.

Answer:	The plug on the E4000 is 1/8" or 2.5mm. Your Sony receiver headphone jack is probably 1/4" or 6.35mm. If this is the case, you will need a 1/8" to 1/4" adaptor to connect the E4000 to your receiver.

Question:	Has anyone printed 5 x 7 or 8 x 10 prints of the scans made from this machine
Answer:	No, I haven't, only scanning so far. I'm old school, if I were going to enlarge it, I would use the original slide for optimum quality.
Question:	This sounds like a pretty nifty device, but what about the picture quality? One of the responders volunteered that the pictures were "fuzzy
Answer:	It does work very well and easy to use. How I did it was to scan the slides on to an SD card then loaded on to a computer to save. The quality of the copy is the quality of the slide, there isn't an edit on it. In my case the slides that were fuzzy were that way because of fuzz on the slide or lens that just needed to be cleaned off. This did what I wanted to do, preserve the picture. It's not perfect or edited, it's what it always had been for 60-70 years, now it's in a more permanent form. It was well worth it.
Question:	Are there suggestions somewhere for how to take the red out of slides? Not pleased with how red the slides look
Answer:	Any good photo editing program can color correct your pictures and remove red fading. Most people use Photoshop these days but it's really expensive. I bought Corel Paints Shop Pro which is less expensive. I'm sure there are others, maybe some free open source programs.
Question:	I just bought this and tried using it with slides - the color is so far off that the image is barely recognizable - is there a trick to use this
Answer:	Yes this is. It will give you satisfactory results. The instructions are useless. I was so discussed I just shelved the unit for a couple months. Finally with more time and a new determination I kept working with the control buttons till I understood their logic. If the color seems completely off your may have the scanner set for working with negatives. That is the default setting. You have to use the crude menu to find the slide setting. Question:	How high does it raise the strings
Answer:	It rises the strings by a little less than a quarter of an inch, high enough to play slide with a bar without problem.
Question:	Can I tune to open G using this converter
Answer:	No, you cannot. In converting from regular to open G tuning you tune down one full step/tone strings 1 (from E to D), 5 (from A to G), and 6 (from E to D), while strings 2, 3 and 4 remain unchanged. It works/is like a regular capo.
Question:	Can i use this as a dobro capo
Answer:	I don't see why you can't, unless the action is so high that it won't work. To work best, the dobro should have frets.
Question:	Will this work with a grover nut extender
Answer:	I didn't know about the Grover Nut Extender. I just looked it up. It appears to me that these are intended to serve the same function. So, I'm going to buy and try the Grover Nut Extender to see if I like it better. This Dunlop device leaves the strings a bit too high for my taste. Chording is very challenging and messes up intonation.

FQA: The reason why you can not connect scanner to your computer via USB?

1. USB mode of the machine may not be set yet.

2. Maybe there's something wrong with your computer USB interface, try other one.

3. Customers' SD card may be locked, you can unlock it and try to scan again.

The VuPoint Solutions FC-C0552-VP Digital Film and Slide Converter scans 35mm slides and negatives into 5MP digital images, at 2592 x 1680dpi. It has a built-in 2.4-inch preview display, USB Interface, 32MB of internal memory and an SD card reader, supporting SD/SDHC cards up to 8GB. The VuPoint features automatic color balance and exposure control. The device is Windows and Mac compatible and comes with the creative ArcSoft PhotoImpression 6 software suite, to capture, edit, crop and enhance digital images, convert to e-mail files, and print. This device makes turning slides and film into images easy, without the expense of using an outside service provider.
