Like any open face helment, the wind can be a problem starting at about 60 mph so keep the chin strap snug. I do believe it is the latest model. I really like this helmet. Personally I would have picked a helmet with a better latch system. They make these half helmets with the clicktogether strap and then you won't have to thread the chinstrap and adjust the pad every time you remove it
