Answer:	We don't have this board, but yes young hold can play this game. I taught my 5yo to play with a plastic chess set from dollar tree.
Question:	Are there weights in the pieces
Answer:	We move the pawns as illustrated on the instructive side of the board. Then we begin playing with the cards. Also be sure to shuffle the cards well.
Question:	Did you realize that the board is set up incorrectly in two of the photographs
Answer:	It teaches only the basics regarding how the pieces move. You can play a regular game of chess or use the cards provided in which case the cards will tell you what to move, there is no strategy involved when using the cards.
