The bodice is a stretchy velvet that my daughter prefers to any of her nylon/acetate clothes. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this dress. (We've had it for more than six months, it gets near-daily use, and it still looks pretty good.)

Answer:	I got a medium for my son. He’s 52 in and 70lbs. Fits good and has some growing room
