User questions & answers

Question: Is this shoe model
Answer: I apoapologize but I currently only ship to locations within the continental US.
Question: Do these shoes offer sufficient arch support for someone with flat feet
Answer: Yes Sir works great up to about 100ft! I love the remote start option and the battery doesn't go down very quick never had it go down in between running a!
Question: What are the Laces' color
Answer: For the key fob. Yes. And there is a battery for generator, it is included. And good instructions.Gen. Starts first time, every time we have used it.
Question: Are the insoles removable
Answer: I have purchased 2 of these batteries. I thought they were gel but to find out their Hybrid Advanced Gel VRLA battery, High rate GEL/AGM. the side of the battery asks for 14.5 -14.9 and a float of 13.8. the battery would not charge to full with the GEL profile at 14.2v. I used the SLA profile on my solar charger which has 14.4v, still under the 14.5 - 14.9v asked for but will charge to full. higher voltage will decrease charge time but will shorten battery life. The digital voltmeter built into the top is a good addition to the battery.

Question: Are these waterproof
Answer: hi this grinder machine have adjusting nut. you can setting for coarse to fine grinding
Question: Is the concrete rough and tough color more grey or tan? I have tried looking at a lot of pictures on line but it is hard to tell
Answer: Can be used for dry corn. Cannot be used on wet corn.
Question: Do these come with the American flags for the laces
Answer: Interesting question difficult to answer. Powdered sugar passed thru easily not so granulated sugar. BUT I think the mesh is intended as a protective shield rather than a sieve.
Question: Are this shoes made in the usa
Answer: running a/c 2.5 gal in 5 hours. Remote start works well. This unit is loud. Sounds like a lawn mower. Also the vent for the gas tank is routed into the air intake. This makes the unit vapor lock on very hot days. I unhooked the vent tube and allow it to dangle. Then plugged the hole with metal tape. Problem solved.

User questions & answers

Question: How’s the width? I see that most people recommend going down one size, but how’s the width on them
Answer: I have a few RedWing Heritage Leather boots, and out of the box they are NOT waterproof. But, there are various leather treatments, some of which are RedWing own brand. The latter are excellent, but there are different types of leather that need different processes. However, I would not hesitate in getting this boot, the Rough and Tough is fantastic leather with a very brief break-in time.
Question: Are these waterproof
Answer: I have the Copper version, which is an excellent boot, and I’ve looked at the Concrete version which is certainly not Tan . . But not, as I thought, Grey. It’s a weird love or hate inbetweener. A friend has a pair and applied boot oil to them and then they went a cool Charcoal. FWIW, they’ve been discontinued in Europe due to lack of popularity in favour of the Copper Rough and Tough
Question: How is the traction for the 430 mini-lug sole in winter on ice and snow
Answer: No, just laces.
Question: Can these be re-soled
Answer: all boots/shoes from Redwing Heritage Brand, not from Redwing brand, are made in USA, according to Redwing Shoes Co. you can find some videos on youtube.

Iron Ranger

One of our most popular footwear styles, the Iron Ranger was named for the hardworking miners on Minnesota’s northern iron range. As North America's largest producer of iron ore, Minnesota was once home to several ranges. The Iron Range is an area near Lake Superior and features most of the state’s ore deposits. It’s also the home of the Mesabi Range, which has been actively mined since the 19th century. Most of the iron ore is transported down the Great Lakes, to cities like Chicago, Cleveland and Pittsburgh where the country's most important ironworks are located. This iron production created a cornerstone of industrial development in our home-state of Minnesota and the entire country.

User questions & answers

Question: hi what is the difference between this shoe and the six inch classic moc boot? both are made in USA right
Answer: I agree with James here. The width is a little narrow and these shoes are stiff as heck until broken in, I recomend using a leather conditioner as soon as possible to assist in this process and protect the fine leather of the boot. They are somewhat longer though, I normally wear a 12 and I purchased a 11.5 in store and I still have a little room. I recommend going to a Red Wing specific store if possible before purchasing. The one I went to in Phoenix, AZ was super helpful and they had a machine that you stand on that measures your foot size and pressure points to give very accurate shoe sizing and possible insole considerations. There is not really any kind of insole in the boot so once it is broken in you will definitely want to consider adding an insole.
Question: what is 7.5 ee m
Answer: If you mean are they able to be submerged in a lake without your foot getting wet, then no they are not. They do very well in rain and snow, but they are not "waterproof" One's feet will get wet with prolonged exposure/immersion in water.
Question: is this boot style 1907? copper rough and tough leather
Answer: It isn’t the best thing on earth for ice and snow, but it genuinely doesn’t impede me.
Question: Are these waterproof
Answer: Heck yeah they can!

User questions & answers

Question: Do they come with the traction sole (small lugs
Answer: The boots are comfortable from the first wearing.I think you might need an insert for the plantar facitis.
Question: Does the black harness color means the style 8114 or
Answer: They have a fairly soft non marking outer layer. I have a standing seam metal roof on my house and no issues, but it is not too steep. Very comfortable boots!!!
Question: Este calzado tiene pinta de hierro
Answer: Soft toe. Good boots man. Tough to find a true fit due to stretching. 10 were too small and 10.5 stretched a bit large. However, best boots by far I have ever owned. I work on concrete floors all day as a superintendent, and my feet no longer hurt after 8 hours which I though was impossible. I will definitely buy again when these puppies are ready for retirement. 6 months so far for everyday rugged use.
Question: Are these waterproof? I couldn't find any info on the redwing website. Also, are these repairable with the heritage shop they promote on their website
Answer: These are the boots structural ironworkers wear. I wore them for over 30 years in the trade. So yes they are about as good as it gets for walking on metal.

Weekender Collection

Taking off your work boots doesn’t have to mean giving up your Red Wings. The new Weekender Collection is a flexible and lightweight alternative to the traditional Goodyear welt, while still featuring our ComfortForce footbed and leathers from S.B. Foot Tanning Company. It’s traditional Red Wing quality and craftsmanship, inspired by our tried-and-true oxford and chukka silhouettes.

CUTTING

The shoemaking process, largely unchanged since Red Wing’s inception, begins with cutting the leather for the shoe. Highly trained leather cutters carefully lay out the cutting dies on every hide. Since no two sides of leather are the same, selecting the best parts for our shoes is an art that can be performed by only experienced craftsmen.

LASTING

During the forepart lasting process, the fitted upper is pulled over the shoe last giving the shoe its final shape and form. The leather welt is sewn together with the upper and the leather insole using the traditional Goodyear welt construction process patented in 1869.

BOTTOMING

The sole is stitched or glued to the midsole, completing the shoemaking process.

SHOE FINISHING

All shoes are carefully inspected twice before being packed into shoeboxes. Depending on the leather, each shoe is cleaned, polished, brushed and finished by a team of expert shoe finishers.

Question: Are these punctuation resistant
Answer: They are most certainly repairable as the sole is attached to the upper using the "Goodyear welt" technique. In terms of waterproof... All quality leather is naturally able to withstand water to a degree. Wearing these in normal rain or snow conditions will be just fine. They can (and should) be treated from time to time with a leather conditioner that will help the leather remain supply and prevent cracking that would lead to less than ideal "waterproofing." I hope this helps!

Safety Toe

Heavy falling or dropped objects and vehicles in motion are work hazards. In many cases, employers require protective footwear; in other cases, it just makes good sense. Red Wing's safety toe footwear meets ASTM F2413-11, I/75C/75 standards for impact and compression.

Electrical Hazard

Electrical Hazard protective sole and heel construction of this footwear is designed to reduce hazards due to contact of the outsole with electrically energized parts, to provide a secondary source of protection.

User questions & answers

Question: Are these waterproof
Answer: No, a rubbery material
Question: What is the best way to clean these
Answer: I just started wearing mine. They were comfortable right out of the box. And the longer I've worn them the more comfortable they have become. Question: Are these true to size? I normally wear a size then in work shoes
Answer: Yeah the first week of wearing them the soles are a little stiff
Question: Do these have foot plate to prevent stepping on nails
Answer: Question marks are resisted as well as periods. Commas and colons are a problem.

User questions & answers

Question: I usually wear 7.5 or 8 in other named shoes company. what size should I get for red wing
Answer: No. I would buy a half size larger than what you normally wear. I bought my regular size and after a prolonged period my toes started feeling squeezed. Tried to return , but Carhartt said comfort not a valid reason. They lost a loyal customer on that one.
Question: Do these shoes run narrow or wider like Doc Martans
Answer: I wear us 8 Clarks, but if you want to add a pair of insole, you should choose 8.5 at least.
Question: Is the shoe, a gloss finish or matte
Answer: Good question! I was wondering that same thing when I ordered these shoes. Typically, letter sizes refer to how narrow or wide the shoes are. My pair arrived as a size D (which is a medium/average width). That said, I found my shoes to run a little narrow, which might be why it's listed as "C/D".
Question: How do these fit? True to size
Answer: I expected the chukka to have a quicker break-in than my Beckmans, which after 4 years of wear and a re-heel feel great. This has not turned out to be true for me. I bought the same size, but the chukka is notably tighter in the toe and heel. I think it is the right size, but after months of occasional wear, they still don't feel as good as the Beckmans. They are most comfortable with thin yet dense socks, if that makes sense. They do have a look that makes them more suitable for occasions or weather when a work boot seems too heavy-duty.

Postman Collection

In 1954, Red Wing introduced a humble shoe that would go on to cover more miles than any other we’ve made. Called simply the No. 101, it would come to be known as the Postman, thanks to the legions of mailmen who wore them on their rounds. We’ve never stopped making this popular shoe so it’s no surprise that the Postman is one of the company’s best sellers. The same nonslip sole and one-piece quarter that were added in 1960 still make the shoe as comfortable and durable today as it was pounding the pavement over 50 years ago.

In 2016, Red Wing introduced two new colors to the Postman collection, our rugged Copper Rough and Tough (No. 3107) and a stylish Navy Abilene (No. 3108). These comfortable and versatile shoes feature our white Atlas Tred sole for excellent grip, Goodyear welt construction, and low maintenance, durable leathers from the S.B. Foot tannery. They’re built right next to the original Postman shoes at our factory in Red Wing, Minnesota. And of course if your uniform, or your taste, demands it, the original style No. 101 is still available in shiny Black Chaparral, ready to put on the miles.
