Answer:	Weight is subjective...depends on size. I wear size 14 and I'm sure they weight twice as much as a small mans size. I shopped in a store before buying and compared these to a number of other brands and they are among the lighter weight boots among of the better brands. I found some inexpensive brands that were much lighter but not very good quality. They are not so heavy as to feel weighted. They are not as stiff as I anticipated them to be either.

Answer:	Timberland White Ledge boots are not insulated and so are not particularly warm in and of themselves. However, because they're mostly leather with few seams, they are very waterproof (many boots claim to be waterproof but are not--too many seams and non-leather parts) and keep your feet dry which helps keep them comfortable. You can buy insulated boots, but unless you're like my sister-in-law (her feet are always cold), they will be too warm in the summer. I much prefer to wear a non-insulated boot and then make them feel warmer/cooler by wearing wool socks in winter and cotton socks in summer. As long as your feet stay dry and you have good moisture-wicking wool socks, this sock method works for me in the winter. Make sure there's enough room in the boots for thicker wool socks--cramped feet will always feel cold.

Answer:	Yes, it works on snow. It is the very first shot boot I ever have. And if you notice I use "IS" not "WAS", because I am still wearing it now, since 2004. It is 15 years already. I only use it in winter time and raining day when the weather condition will not be safe with regular sneakers. I use this boot as snow day shoes in each year, for 15 years now, and the shoe is still in very good condition. I am thinking to get a second pair in different color now. BUT, I will not give this boot a 5 -star rating due to the very poor design of the show lace. For no reason, this round shoe lace constantly got loose when I was walking. After many years' upset with the original round shoe lace, I replaced it with regular flat shoe lace and it works very well now. Therefore, I suggest you also get a regular flat shoe lace ready when the round lace is not properly holding up, so you can just replace it.

Who knows if larger replacements would have been correct anyway...if they were that far off the first time, who knows what the next pair would be like.

Answer:	No..tying the laces is not necessary..very versatile boot...they are true to size and the sherpa lining in the foot makes them snug so they don't feel as if they will come off or "loose"

I could tel as soon as I put them on with regular socks that they were to narrow and to long. This seems to be the trend that shoe sizes are getting listed as wider but the shoe is a full size narrower then say 20 years ago. 2E should be fine for me nut not I am ordering 3Eand dreaming about shoes that re not to long so that they are wide enough.

Answer:	You're going to want to sun dry them for several hours. Lets say it takes 6 after 3 hours put fabric softner sheets in the front like 2 or 3 each. Also it would be good to wash them. Let them sit in a bucket of warm water with some non damaging soap (use a old toothbrush to clean the nooks and crannies). This process takes 1.5 days one day to clean .5 to dry.

Answer:	They're not horrible but boots like these are never the most comfortable to drive with since they're stiff. But they are comfy and warm. Compared to sorels, these are great.

Answer:	you could go either way, to be honest. I like to wear wool socks along with my boots so i went up a size. Usually, i wear 10.5 and got size 11 boots. I am happy with the fit.

Answer:	yes they do have a removable liner I wear a size 11 in a regular boot and a thick winter sock my size 12 boots fits great could wear them all day long comfortable hope this helps

Answer:	It was 23 this morning. Did not slip on ice in the shade but ice where the sun was shining had a thin layer of water and was very slippery. Nothing will grip on wet ice that I have found. My feet were nice and warm

Answer:	These boots are built with a cordura fabric that is sprayed with a waterproof solution off the line. I have hiked extensively in these boots in the winter and in very wet conditions. The seams on the sides have failed and need to be reglued and they need to be resprayed after every season or else your feet will get wet. For the price, get a nice pair of leather danner hikers instead
