Scarpa backpacking boots are a popular choice among outdoor enthusiasts, hikers, and backpackers, known for their quality, durability, and performance in rugged terrain. These boots are designed to provide support, protection, and comfort during extended hikes and backpacking adventures. Here are some key features and information about Scarpa backpacking boots:

  1. High-Quality Materials: Scarpa is known for using top-notch materials in the construction of their boots. They often use high-quality leather and synthetic materials that are both durable and water-resistant.

  2. Support and Stability: Scarpa backpacking boots are designed with a focus on providing excellent ankle support and stability. This is crucial for carrying heavy backpacks over uneven and challenging terrain. The boots typically have a higher cut, which helps prevent ankle injuries.

  3. Vibram Outsoles: Many Scarpa boots are equipped with Vibram outsoles, which are known for their exceptional grip and durability. These outsoles provide traction on various surfaces, including rocky trails and slippery terrain.

  4. Waterproofing: Some Scarpa models come with Gore-Tex membranes, which make the boots waterproof and breathable. This feature keeps your feet dry in wet conditions while allowing moisture to escape, preventing your feet from getting sweaty and uncomfortable.

  5. Comfort: Scarpa pays attention to the comfort of their boots. They often incorporate cushioning in the midsole and offer a supportive footbed. This helps reduce fatigue during long hikes.

  6. Weight: Scarpa offers a range of backpacking boots with different weights. Some models prioritize lightweight designs for fast and agile hiking, while others focus on heavier, more supportive options for carrying heavier loads.

  7. Fit: Scarpa offers a variety of fit options to accommodate different foot shapes. They often have different lasts (foot forms) to ensure a snug and comfortable fit.

  8. Versatility: Scarpa backpacking boots are versatile and suitable for various outdoor activities, including hiking, trekking, backpacking, and mountaineering. They are designed to handle a wide range of conditions and terrains.

  9. Men's and Women's Models: Scarpa offers both men's and women's backpacking boot models to cater to a broad range of outdoor enthusiasts.

  10. Resoleable: Many Scarpa boots are resoleable, meaning that when the outsoles wear out over time, you can have them replaced by a professional cobbler, extending the life of your boots.

In summary, Scarpa backpacking boots are well-regarded in the outdoor community for their quality, durability, and performance. They are designed to provide the necessary support and protection for hikers and backpackers who venture into challenging and varied terrain. User questions & answers

Question: What is the EU size equivalent of 8-8.5 currently shown on Amazon
Answer: Scarpas tend to run true to width. An 8.5 US equivalent is 41 - 42 Eu. If over 40years old (so feet start doing that within hike expansion), I would go with the 42.
Question: Are these comfortable enough to wear all day every day standing on concrete
Answer: I think they are a little heavy for all day every day wear, and may get hot on your feet on concrete in summer.
Question: Is size us 6.5 (eu 39.5) available
Answer: It doesn't seem to be an option in the sizing menu, so there wouldn't be any available.
Question: If my feet measure 28 cm from heel to toe, should I buy a 10.5 or an 11 size for these boots
Answer: 28 cm normally fits size 10 US but I would highly recommend to get a half number (maybe even a full number though it might be too much) bigger than your actual size since these are hiking boots, not tennis shoes. It depends a lot on what you want to do with these boots and the climate (wether you will use thick socks or not). I would recommend buy a 10.5 and an 11, try them and send the back the one you don't wanna keep.

User questions & answers

Question: Do you ship to NZ? because the search and the result is a little bit confusing
Answer: well my calves are 16" and that part of the boot was fine. Problem was the general fit. I should have ordered a larger size, as could only get my foot into them wearing regular socks, vs the heavy wool ones I had wanted to use. Oh- and even with my 16" calves, that fit was no where near snug, so you should have no problem.

User questions & answers

Question: can it use in Alaska winter
Answer: Size 46 weights are as follows: L-36.8oz., R-36.4oz.
Question: How tall are the boots
Answer: I've had these boots for about three years now. They are a heavy leather boot with a Gore-Tex liner. Yes, your feet will sweat in these boots depending upon how hard you're working your body and climate conditions. At 70 deg F on moderately steep terrain with a 45 lb pack I dare you to find a leather boot that breathes like a lightweight hiker with ventilated mesh construction. But, in rain and mud these boots will keep you from developing trench foot. On rocky terrain above tree line they will keep your feet from aching with pain. On a steep slope they will provide the stiffness to dig in and climb saving your calf muscles. Sweat can be managed with a good pair of socks. Wool and synthetics can both work well. Stay away from cotton like the plague. It all comes down to purpose. If you're doing a 5 mile hike in the summer on fairly flat dry terrain, grab a pair of ventilated mesh lightweight hiking boots. If you're going longer, steeper, in variable weather conditions with a heavier load, take these boots. If you're climbing in winter at high altitude, you'll want completely different footwear suited to the task.
Question: how heavy are the boots
Answer: It's pretty a pretty flat black.
Question: Do these full leather boots make your feet sweat
Answer: I'd try Casio tiktox. It's a company out of the U.K. Put in the model number and I think you can get what's called a Combi Bracelet for this watch. "Combi" means combination resin and metal. A more comfortable bracelet you won't find.
