Answer:	These are more water resistant than water proof ( like a rubber wader) . They become much less water resistant with time . A treatment with a thick rub on type snow proofing product when you get them new will really help . Repeat as needed .

Answer:	No, these boots are no longer waterproof. Since 2016 they do not contain goretex. Mine started to leak in slushy snow after 3 weeks of use. These boots have been cheapened but the cost for them went up.
Question:	Would these be any good for everyday snow shoveling
Answer:	Yes, they are perfect boots for shoveling snow. If you are in deep snow, get some gaiters and you have an awesome set of snow boots. Be sure to care for your boots by using a silicone rub such as kiwi minkoil. By the way, in the last 6 years I have been through 4 pairs of these awesome boots. I use them for my job (package delivery) and use them for outdoor activities like 5-15 mile hikes. Get some SOLE Ultra insoles and these puppies will keep your feet painfree especially if you are on you feet for 10-15 hours/day. The only bad part is that the tread wears out pretty fast. But that is probably my fault because I cover so many miles (~300 miles/pair) on them on the concrete, asphalt and mountain trails. I'll stop there, I love these boots and hope they never change them!!

Answer:	It will take a lot of walking to find a jungle in the Himalayas as the Himalayas are a mountain range, though tigers are found in the Bhutan over 13,000 feet. Yes these boots will hold up - mine are over 12 years old and only now is the rubber starting to perish. Been through bushveld hiking in hot and humid South Africa and below -29 Celsius in the Alps!

Answer:	That is why I bought these. They are durable and waterproof. I have walked into water up to half way up the boot with no seepage. Comfortable, flexible.

Answer:	Timberland White Ledge boots are not insulated and so are not particularly warm in and of themselves. However, because they're mostly leather with few seams, they are very waterproof (many boots claim to be waterproof but are not--too many seams and non-leather parts) and keep your feet dry which helps keep them comfortable. You can buy insulated boots, but unless you're like my sister-in-law (her feet are always cold), they will be too warm in the summer. I much prefer to wear a non-insulated boot and then make them feel warmer/cooler by wearing wool socks in winter and cotton socks in summer. As long as your feet stay dry and you have good moisture-wicking wool socks, this sock method works for me in the winter. Make sure there's enough room in the boots for thicker wool socks--cramped feet will always feel cold.
Question:	Does the sole split from the boot
Answer:	Yes, it works on snow. It is the very first shot boot I ever have. And if you notice I use "IS" not "WAS", because I am still wearing it now, since 2004. It is 15 years already. I only use it in winter time and raining day when the weather condition will not be safe with regular sneakers. I use this boot as snow day shoes in each year, for 15 years now, and the shoe is still in very good condition. I am thinking to get a second pair in different color now. BUT, I will not give this boot a 5 -star rating due to the very poor design of the show lace. For no reason, this round shoe lace constantly got loose when I was walking. After many years' upset with the original round shoe lace, I replaced it with regular flat shoe lace and it works very well now. Therefore, I suggest you also get a regular flat shoe lace ready when the round lace is not properly holding up, so you can just replace it.

Answer:	my son who is the person I bought them for says they can take some water but he is not sure about the boots in flooding situations, He has not had that experience . They are not advertised as water proof but so far (rain ) he has not had a problem. My son does have some back problems but has no problem with the comfort of the boot, he did put in a Dr Scholls gel foot pad. Thats about it

Answer:	I've been wearing Timberland Pro Pit Boss boots for about 8 years now and each pair has never let my feet get wet. They are waterproof and very durable. The pair I have now are at least 3 years old but, alas, the tread is wearing and must be replaced. Oh, and I work in a power plant.

Answer:	I ordered my first pair in 2017, 2nd in 2019 and I ordering my 3rd pair in a row right after this comment. They average almost 2 years to the month for me. But, I'm also a full time Mechanic at a shop. I work and walk around a lot of chemicals. Mostly Autozone Brake Clean, gasoline and oil. I also wear size 15 wide and I am happy with spending just under $100 every 2 years for these boots. They are very, very comfortable for not needing to be broken in like a lot of other boots. My sole/tread is starting to fall apart from the boot now. But, I also haven't been cleaning and greasing them at the end of every week like I was. I love these boots. If you're not around a lot of chemicals and you clean them and grease them like you're supposed to, I can easily see these boots lasting you 5+ years. I mean, I started flaking on the care and maintenance of them and they last me 2 years walking in harsh chemicals 40 hours a week. I also wear my boots out of work because they're more comfortable than my shoes.

Answer:	Hello, I understood your question perfectly! I never could get the Timberland boot to fit well . . not the boot's fault . . I'm hard to fit. I ended up sending them back and getting the Caterpillar "Walking Machines" Stock number P72365. I just measured and the sole is 3/4". The heel is just over 1 inch (over by 1/8 of an inch). Sorry I couldn't offer more help on the Timberland PRO . . it's an extremely well made work boot. Also, 1 inch (as reported by another customer) seems to be a little bit of a "stretch" to me on the sole. 3/4" seems to be the average . . I just checked another boot I have, a Wolverine "Multishox". It's sole is just under 1/2" and the heel is just over an inch (by an 1/8th of an inch). I remember my Timberland PROS, and the thickness of the sole was more like 3/4 of an inch. Incidently, these souls have not been worn down, and the numbers I have provided are for "like new" soles. I hope I have been of some help. If in doubt, go for it! Amazon is GREAT with returns. Answer:	I think the lace length is dependent on the boot size, so if you have the boots, fully undo one of the laces and measure it.

Answer:	There is a W option in the sizings. I have wide feet, selected the "W" option and they work perfectly. Timberland is always great about making concessions for us wide foot folk.

Answer:	Not officially. Anything super-slick like oil or smooth, wet ice will still be pretty slippery, but on anything else the tread works great and keeps your sole where you step. I wouldn't recommend these for anything that requires "slip-resistant" shoes, but they'll keep your feet planted in 95% of everyday situations.
