Explore Beyond the Familiar
Inspired by decades of legendary hiking boots, we partnered with Vibram to forge a new path in hiking footwear for men and women. The Mountain 600 defines a new category in hiking boots we call Performance Heritage — combining our classic styling with lightweight innovation. Explore beyond the familiar.
Vibram SPE Midsole
The Danner Mountain 600 features the Vibram SPE (Specialized Performance Elastomer) midsole, an all-new, technical compound engineered to deliver greater comfort and flexibility. Created with a unique co-polymer blend of synthetic natural rubber and EVA, this midsole improves resiliency, cushioning, and durability, while minimizing weight

By combining the SPE midsole with the Vibram Fuga outsole, we were able to achieve the perfect balance between flexibility and traction. The pliable SPE midsole and flex lines of the Fuga outsole allow your foot to expand to a wider surface, while the unique self-adaptive lug pattern grips at multiple angles. This combination provides ultimate stability when traversing across rocky trails or scree. The entire outsole is injected with Vibram’s Megagrip rubber technology for ultimate hold on wet and dry terrain.
Waterproof Protection
Drawing from years spent building durable leather hiking boots, we selected a specific suede for the Mountain 600, knowing that its lighter weight, waterproof and superior abrasion-resistant qualities would hold up to the rugged Pacific Northwest. We designed the boot to have minimal seams and lined it with Danner Dry to ensure it could withstand the wettest conditions.

User questions & answers
Question: | Hello, i wear a size 9.5 in nike free and redwing boots. would a size 9.5 fit me. also, if i want to wear wool socks, would i have to size up. tq |
Answer: | They should be ok for short hikes on level ground. I would get more supportive boots for distance or hiking on varied terrain. |
Question: | Are these more narrow or wide |
Answer: | Yes. That's the style #. |
Question: | Is the suede easy to maintain? Thinking about getting the oyster... Might get dirty super easily |
Answer: | I don't know what the warranty is on Danner's Crafter Boot, no doubt you can find that information on Danner's web-site or call them. |
Question: | was it made in China |
Answer: | I would say that they are more just weather resistant. They work fine in rain and light snow, but in heavy weather, I'd always wear two pairs of socks to counteract the moisture that would get through. Nothing terrible, but I'm sure you know how any moisture will ruin a work day. |

REINTRODUCING AN '80S DANNER ORIGINAL
The original Danner Jag debuted in the 1980s as a lightweight alternative to our classic, heavy-duty hiking boots. After a few years on the trail supporting external frame backpacks and complementing denim cut-offs, the Jag was retired. Now 30 years later, we’ve reintroduced the Jag as a more versatile version of its former self. It’s comfortable both on the trail and around town and incorporates durable, lightweight materials, a cushioning EVA midsole, and a new waffle outsole that adapts to a wide variety of terrain. We’re proud to reintroduce this Danner original.
RETRO STYLE AND MODERN PERFORMANCE FOR DAILY COMFORT
To ensure the Jag is comfortable in any situation, we approached its development with a focus on lightweight versatility. Starting at the core of the boot, we developed a new last that offers more room in the toe box and gives the boot an overall more comfortable and casual fit. An EVA midsole and low-lugged waffle outsole keep the boot light, while a removable OrthoLite footbed adds cushioning underfoot. All told, you get a vintage style boot that fits more like a modern sneaker to keep you light on your feet and ready for what the day holds.
COME RAIN OR SHINE
Wet feet quickly sap the fun from any day. That’s why we built the Jag Mid with our signature Danner Dry 100% waterproof membrane and the Jag Low with a breathable mesh lining. Keep the moisture out with Danner Dry when the skies open up, and let heat quickly escape from the breathable mesh lining when the weather turns and temperatures rise. So no matter where you roam, rain or shine, your feet will be comfortable with the Jag.
SAME GREAT BOOT, JUST 30 YEARS BETTER.
When we decided to bring the Jag back, we saw it as an opportunity to keep all the greatness of the original but refine it with 30 years worth of advancement and hard-won knowledge. We refined the original pattern just enough to be slightly more streamlined and integrate more modern materials without losing its quintessential '80s aesthetic. Perfecting the colors was a must and the original Jag was a key source of inspiration as we selected full-grain leathers and highly durable nylon to bring the updated pattern to life. Lastly, we used a waffle-style outsole, common on vintage athletic shoes, to give universal grip from trail to town. The result is an updated Jag that proudly reflects the original's 1980s vibe and carries on its legacy.

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the meaning of 2E and d(m) next to the shoe sizes |
Answer: | My foot measures 27.5cm x 11cm and I range between a size 9 and 10 in most shoes. I got these boots in a size 9 and they fit snug, not tight, but I would not be able to wear thick socks with them. They have quite a narrow toe box on them. If in doubt I would suggest sizing up a little, especially if you will be wearing thick socks. Great boots though. |
Question: | Are these slip resistant enough to be worn in a restaurant |
Answer: | I find them on the narrow side. I have a normal foot but can't wear these boots with thick socks yet. Waiting for them to pack out a little. |
Question: | Looking for an everyday boot, not going to put them through hell but light work. Will this suit me |
Answer: | Depends on how you intend to use the shoe. It will get dirty and they can be wiped clean. However over time it will not stay looking new. Hope this helps. |
Question: | Can these clear a walk through metal detector |
Answer: | The sole is made in Vietnam. I believe the upper is made in USA but I'm not 100% sure |

Athletic Inspired, Duty Designed, Field Proven.
We’d heard the demand for a lightweight trainer, but we weren’t going to make one until it could meet the exacting standards at Danner. Getting it right was essential. The Tachyon is the output of research and patience to make a trainer boot that can hold up to the rigors of the field. With a wide range of versions available, whether waterproof, polishable toe, or hot weather specific, you can find the right Tachyon for the job at hand. Most importantly, you can be confident that even though it's inspired by shoes worn on the athletic field, it's built durable to hold up in whatever field your tactical athletics take you to.
Full Rubber Outsoles, Ready For The Rigors Of The Field
Save the EVA for your tennis shoes. For a boot to truly hold up day after day in the field, it needs to be built with materials that are more durable. That's why we use a 100% rubber outsole for our Tachyon. With pentagonal lugs for maximum surface contact and superior grip, it'll hold up longer, provide better traction, all while keeping an athletic feel for comfort and mobility.
Lace Up, Roll Out.
We know being able to move out quick means getting your boots on fast. The Tachyon uses special speed lacing hardware to allow for toe to top tightening with one swift tug. You’ll get a snug fit that hugs the foot, and you’ll get it quickly. Less time lacing up for more time getting the job done.
Built Durable Without The Bulk
Lightweight. It's one of the biggest draws towards a trainer-inspired boot. However, finding the balance between lightweight construction and durability can be a real challenge. We sought out 500 Denier Nylon to help solve this problem, as we know it to provide one of the lightest strength-to-weight ratios out there. Matched with strategically placed full-grain leather we’re able to build the Tachyon upper to be every bit as strong as it is lightweight. You’ll get the feel of a favorite athletic shoe with the strength you always grab your boots for.

User questions & answers
Question: | will the top soften a break it . if now is there something that will help |
Answer: | For width only, D is like a 'normal' boot, 2E is like a large, 4E would be like an extra large. Note that I had these boots in a 13-D 2 years ago and they were snug but felt great. I just got another 13-D pair and even after a month of break-in they still hurt like h@@@ and caused blisters. Returning them and ordering 13-2E feels like the 13-D i had 2 years ago. Snug but not too snug. If you sometimes get a wide boot, definitely get these in a wide. |
Question: | Are these boots authentic Danner boots |
Answer: | No |
Question: | are these supposed to fit tight. or kind of loose, also when i put mine on my heel slips some, and the are loose around my foot |
Answer: | Depends. What do u mean by "everyday boot"? If you meant work then i would consider that it DOES NOT HAVE A STEAL TOE. For casual wear or everyday use i would highly recommend it |
Question: | Are these boots oil and slip resistant |
Answer: | Probably not. They do have metal eyelets for the laces. |

RELIABLY RUGGED
Built in the USA with a dedication to quality that goes back to 1932, the Bull Run is a utilitarian work boot with a timeless design that stays in style when you punch out. The full-grain leather upper is the perfect blend of strong and soft. Combine that with the sturdy Danner Wedge outsole and you get all-day comfort that lasts.
FOCUS ON THE WAYS OF OUR CRAFT
Craftsmanship is found in the details that are unseen, like shaving down panels of leather prior to stitching and working the creases of the upper to create a more secure fit. These are the standards that were set in 1932 when the first Danner boot was made, and these are the same standards that ensure the USA-made Bull Run is a work boot that is built to last.
STRONG, YET FLEXIBLE.
Selecting just the right leather is the most important aspect of creating an unlined work boot. It must be strong and it must be soft. Through seven different tests, we graded leather hides in strength, density, and pull. We watched how the leather would conform to the foot with age, and we ensured that it was strong enough to stand up to work environments for years to come.
MODERN COMFORT
On the outside, the Bull Run emulates a classic work boot, one that you’d pull out of your grandpa’s closet in hopes that it fits. With the Bull Run, we took that classic design and updated it with modern comfort. We re-engineered the fit to flow with the anatomy of the foot and to allow room for a soft and sturdy footbed, creating a fit focused on both comfort and long lasting support.
