User questions & answers
Question: | Im looking for a good steel or rigid shank for working. does ths or other Chippewa's have a good shank |
Answer: | No shank. I've had problems with 2 different pairs soles separating at the shank also. Wouldn't recommend these as work boots. |
Question: | What length are the laces |
Answer: | The laces are 54-55 inches long. |
Question: | Do these boots use Goodyear Welting? I'm hoping to keep them for a long time, and high-quality construction is a must |
Answer: | I’m not sure, but I had these for 6 years, and I’m only buying a replacement pair now because these got covered in exterior paint. Otherwise I would’ve just went for a re-sole and new insole. These have lasted a long time, and I applied Sno-Seal every other Autumn. Worn everyday for work(and personal yard work) for 6 years. |
Question: | How do stand up to rain and snow |
Answer: | They will stand up to moderate amounts of either but may become cracked and dry if overexposed. I recommend waterproofing with wax, oil or some other method for increased weather durability. However be advised that this will alter the color of the leather. |

Vibram Stockbridge Outsole
The simple fine lines offer a dress profile, while the lug pattern in the center of the forepart and heel offers traction and stability. Vibram Gumlite is a micro-cellular, synthetic compound that combines slip-resistance with the long-wearing characteristics of rubber, yet Gumlite is half the weight. Vibram Gumlite maintains its physical properties and slip-resisting characteristics in cold weather. It is lightweight like EVA, yet longer wearing.
