Answer:	This is more of a gasket sealant. (O-rings and washers) It will work for garden hose gaskets as it is a hydrophobic sealant/lubricant. Typically garden hoses only need good rubber gaskets and clean threads. If you want to seal threads you'll need teflon tape for metal or pipe joint compound for plastics as these are more suited for stronger seals.

With some searching on Amazon or its referenced external websites you may get a better deal on the #631 since its 5X the amount of the #630's 1 oz. tube.
