Answer:	I would buy a size 9. I recently got these for my husband, and they run true to size. These are awesome flip flops, btw. I love the look of them, and my husband says they are so comfortable. Highly recommend.

Answer:	They were a bit stiff at the beginning but after repeated use they really start to break in. A few pro tips however is: 1. Keep them dry. From my experience, when they get wet they tend to dry out and become even more stiff 2. Don’t keep them in direct sunlight or in the trunk of your car. They will begin to warp into the shape of a banana (concave). They are very comfortable but if you don’t maintain them in this way they will not stand the test of time. Hope this helps.

Answer:	In order to get the closest to 501 (which are button fly) the good ole Levi's, make sure that the jeans you are looking at are made of 100% cotton, and say "shrink to fit", they will be dark denim and stiff. If they are lighter denims, they are likely NOT 100% cotton like the real Levi's were back in the day. The pair I purchased said "shrink to fit" rigid, and were 100% cotton and a very dark denim. These are the only ones I have found that are even close to the good old levis, unless you look on the levis web site and are prepared to shell out over $100 and up.

The 501 Original fit sits at the waist, has slightly more room in the seat are, has a regular thigh, with a button fly and the straight leg has about a 16" leg opening. The 502 Regular Taper jean sits BELOW the waist, has a regular thigh with a zipper fly and the tapered leg has about a 14.5" leg opening. Answer:	This is how they were delivered to me. The pants didn’t fit and they had knee holes on both legs. Not my style of jeans.

Answer:	Yes they taper down. Especially if you dry them (even on the lowest heat setting). I wear Vans Sk8 Hi hi tops and the pants are perfect for wearing with these hi top shoes. Since my jeans shrunk, they went from easily fitting Naturally over the tops of the shoes, to having to pull the pants over the tops of the shoes but the pants will usually pull up and sit on top of the hi top shoes which is fine for me. The Regular Jean colored pants I have did not shrink nearly as much and barely shrunk at all. All of the black pairs I have all shrunk quite a bit. I just bought a brand new pair and I must have gotten used to the shrunken ones because now I feel like the new ones are way to baggy so I dont wear them yet. My size info for reference: 6’ tall Weight- 175 Build- Semi athletic regular build. Not large, but also not woody from toy story Skinny. Size I wear in these jeans- 34x32 I wear jeans with a belt and the pants just sit naturally on my hips. Not too low, not too high.

Answer:	Tough question. Generally yes, but it depends on the resolution of your computer monitor. What I ordered was a bit off from the color on my screen, but I could live with it. The color descriptions on the web site are totally ridiculous and clearly not customer friendly (e.g., "rigid dragon", "the rich", "timberwolf", "I'll get you." ) One conclusion is that Levi's must think customers are stupid - how could anyone possibly make sense of those color names.. One the other hand, maybe there is no agreed upon definition of how to define a color with specificity, so they totally make up color names.. My approach was to drive to a Levis outlet to look at the colors but not everyone can do that. Only other option - give it your best shot and return them if the color does not work. By the way, the issue of materials is relevant. I ordered a black pair, thinking that I was getting regular Levis, but in black. So wrong. What arrived It is more like canvas than denim. Good luck. In spite of all that, I still wear the 541 stretch jeans, and work through these difficulties.

But to answer your question.......the leg opening to the 541 Athletic fit jeans is slightly smaller but very close to our 513 Slim Straight and our 501 Original fit (which also has a straight leg opening).......HOWEVER, because the 541 Athletic fit has extra room in the seat and thigh (to accommodate an "athletic build"), the "appearance" of the leg opening is slightly tapered. In other words, the actual measurement is close to a straight jean but the jean LOOKS slightly tapered because the top half is looser. Does that make sense?

Answer:	Hi. The colors are similar (lighter shade of indigo) but the difference is the fabric content. Lake Merrit is a lighter weight (10.5 oz) stretch denim made of 92% Cotton, 7% Polyester and 1% Elastane. The Perseus fabric is from the Performance Strong collection and it's made of 93% Cotton, 4% Polyester, 2% Polyethylene and 1% Elastane. The fabric weight of Perseus is heavier (13 oz).
