Answer:	As I mainly use them for driving, I'm not sure I can answer. I would think, if you're in the freezer for long periods of time, they might not keep your hands warm enough. As far as toughness, they are thick enough to be warm without being bulky but, not thick enough to work in a freezer.

Answer:	Looks to be a latex type material. Gloves work well texting. Very warm

The thumb, index finger and middle finger does not have the grip material on them. the palm does but i would think for a mail carrier that all the fingers would need it.
