Answer:	When it is fully opened the umbrella is approximately 30" wide. An average sized man and woman can stand under it in a "cozy" fashion, in other words, if he puts his arm around her shoulder. As far as umbrellas go, this one feels much sturdier than others. If it's taken care of, it should last a long time. Allow it to dry before you close it up. There is no such thing as having bad luck from opening an umbrella indoors. Answer:	I'm very familiar with Mycroft's character style. This umbrella while closed is very sturdy and great to lean against while both ankles are crossed in a very Britsh-like pose. Beware though that the handle might be a little too tight and thick for your entire hand to fit around. I frequently use it in a similiar way and glad it's very strong and won't easily break when used for gestures and other movements. It's a good choice if you don't want to buy an expensive umbrella, over $300, like the one Mycroft Holmes uses. It's a good buy, I highly recommend it.

Answer:	I would NOT buy the kids size for a 10 year old unless he/she is a very small 10 year old. I just received the kids size for my 9 year old today and I'm returning it.
