Answer:	When the umbrella opens there is a very strong pull, so I dont know if that would be an issue or not. Closing involves pushing firm on a button, that is the size of a dime. It automatically closes, but you still have to push the folded umbrella down to get it to click and lock in its portable size. This takes a small amount of strength, but not necessarily fine motor skills.
