Answer:	Sorry to hear that. Mine doesn't move while blending but it does move slightly in the base. I have had a similar problem with a different brand and just holding it while blending helped. But if you are not satisfied give the help line at Oster a call. They were very helpful to me when I contacted them about my top shattered after I washed it, they sent a replacement in less than a week. Hope this helps. It really is a great blender and the company stands behind its products.

Answer:	I made green smoothies with my Oster for about 8 years. I make VERY thick smoothies for eating with a spoon -- no water or juice and lots of frozen fruit and frozen lime and lemon cubes -- and so have never tried using a straw. I have to think my Oster green smoothies would be smooth enough to use a straw. I am sometimes still aware of some texture if I use blueberries, and some greens "strings" get caught on the blades, especially if I let the blades go a long time without sharpening. Otherwise my green smoothies are completely smooth, as far as I'm concerned, with the Fusion with the all-metal drive. Note that my method is to tightly pack the ingredients in a Mason jar, tightly press the base on the top, and then turn that upside down on the blender bottom. (I usually have to blend a little, then add more ingredients, until the jar is completely packed.) It is a bit of work, but it means all the force of the blender is brought to bear on what is being blended. I was not able to figure out any other practical way to make thick green smoothies with an under-$100 blender. Coincidentally, that blender just finally gave up the ghost 2 weeks ago after about 8 years of almost daily punishing use. It finally just stopped and wouldn't do any more. I am saving for a Vitamix now because it will save me time. The Oster, however, should get an award for holding up as long as it did, given what I was making it do!!!!!

Answer:	This seems to be a pretty good blender (I have almost a fetish for old Oster blenders) and I don't think you'd be unhappy with it. Personally, I finally broke down recently and purchased a "Jamba Professional" blender here on Amazon. 2.4 horsepower... manufactured by Hamilton Beach for the Jamba Juice company. I'm very happy so far with the extra power. Hot soup in 5.75 minutes.

However , I'm not sure that its compatible to add iron on patches because the inside is lined in a rubber or plastic material to resist spills and soak through. It would depend on high the temprature of the Iron needs to be heated to. I did have the packs embroidered without any problem. The fabric is canvas. Hope this helps .
