If your area has LTE coverage, then there is a strong possibility the Honor 8 *may* support the LTE bands used by Verizon for coverage in your area. If you're dead set on the phone, I would call Verizon to verify what LTE bands and frequencies are used in your area. The phone does not have any sort of CDMA radio stack built-in, so for areas where you only have 3G, or in areas where their traditional LTE bands may not be used (FCC restrictions, other regional carriers own the spectrum of frequency or band) it definitely won't work. While the simple answer as provided before is simply "no," that's not necessarily the case. If you need a solid Android device for a decent price that supports CDMA, go buy a used or refurbished Pixel or Pixel XL, which sits at a similar pricepoint at the time of this post. In fact, I'd recommend the Pixel over the Honor 8 simply for the fact that you're getting the pure Google experience that isn't molested with 3rd party launchers and apps. |

Band 12/17 is dominant in rural areas, important for penetrating large buildings, and as back-up in cities and towns. In most areas in cities and towns, you will get LTE, but in rural areas and deep in buildings, with no band 12/17 available, this phone will fall back to HSPA+. HSPA+ in the rural areas near me and in the middle of my office building is 3 mb down and .3 mb up, so mobile data works in these places but is not super fast. A phone specifically for the US as opposed to this global/international model would have all of the important cricket/att bands including 12/17. The bottom line is that the phone works on LTE in cities and towns but outside of that it will run slow. If you are willing to accept these limitations, the phone is very, very good otherwise. |
