Answer:	It doesn't say on the pot or the instructions as far as I can tell, but I feel it is. Its a sturdy ceramic consistent with a coffee mug. It seems it will be fine! Hope that helps!

Answer:	I am not sure about that but I had tried to use non-iodine salt and didn't like it. We have been using this salt for nasal irrigation. It is a fine powder and dissolves immediately. It is a really good price on amazon compared to health food stores.
