Yes iPhones have model numbers, "iPhone 8" is more of a marketing name. Anyways the two versions are: A1863 which works on all carriers GSM (AT&T/T-Mobil) and CDMA(Verizon/Sprint) and model A1905 which ONLY works on GSM carriers (AT&T and T-Mobil). Unfortunately Amazon doesn't clarify which model is being sold.
