Answer: I believe the answer is yes. You can use the wallet without the case. However, the back of the case for the phone has a magnetic source. When in the wallet, it adheres nicely and does not slip around. Which means the phone side of the wallet also has a magnetic source. For example, with the case on my iPhone 12 phone, I can place it on my steel table or any metal surface and my phone adheres to it. That may not be of value you but I do feel secure when my iPhone with the case, is in my wallet. Hope this helps!
