Answer:	I am not completely sure of your question, but the metal base plate is used for both magnetization (via a magnetized holder for vehicles), and for the kickstand. It swivels, so you can easily position your phone horizontally or vertically. It also has a loop for your finger to go into to help aid in securing the phone to your hand, but I don't find it comfortable and never use that feature.... but it is there nonetheless.

Answer:	Sorry , not really sure, shower I have had it out in the elements and it has been holding up ,even dropped it rice on the pavement, happy so far. Hope this helps
