I would now suggest the following: if your AT&T service is bad at both primary and vacation home, you would need a microcell at EACH location and each would require separate registration with AT&T. But when you need one, it works well. Whether or not you would need an extra little antenna will depend upon your location... and sadly, it can be a sort of trial and error thing so keep your receipts. I would suggest chatting with a local AT&T store (if your service is through AT&T) about current requirements to boost your signal at either location and then you could purchase the microcell tower from Amazon... but getting expert technical advice is invaluable if you're not an engineer which I am not.
