If you don't use an Iphone case there will be a gap around the edge of the protector and if you do use a case there may still be a gap depending on the lip dimensions of the case. Answer:	I don’t mean to butt in here, but I’m not familiar with protocol. I’m going to be a tad redundant. I have also used a Defender since I first purchased the phone (7 plus) maybe two years ago. And I’ll confirm that it does fit, primarily because none of the case overlaps the actual glass. I can’t remember why, but I wanted a different protector. I purchased these and at least for my model, there are small gaps on the sides and a noticeable gap above that slit in the top of the phone. It was basically made for a smaller phone apparently. But as a caveat, I am admittedly anal about minutiae like that. I just sucked it up and left it on. Since I’ve been using this protector, I have had to wipe it off constantly. Anything in the vicinity that can adhere to glass, makes a beeline for your screen protector. I don’t have oily hands, it’s more like smears. It doesn’t necessarily obscure the screen, but when it’s turned off, I’m amazed at how quickly it got dirty. It’s now pretty much always smeared and somewhat cloudy. In fact, I am going to purchase a different brand. I realize this answer that turned into a review runs contrary to the overwhelmingly positive score. I only wanted to add my experience, so you know what is possible. Sorry to run so long. I hope you have a positive experience with whichever protector you purchase. We pay $800 or however much, it makes sense to spend $5 to $10 to protect it. And a case, I should add.

Carefully align the protector as you let it touch the screen starting from one end. It will settle on the screen, attaching as it goes with no bubbles. Remove the application tabs and use the soft cloth to press into place and you're done.

Answer:	It should all still come off in one piece. It will break and crack sometimes as you try to remove it but it should all stay together.
