Answer:	I believe JVC claims 1300 lumens. At least one professional online reviewer measured 1200 lumens. It allows not only preset settings, it also allows you to find your ideal fixed setting and then use that at the same time you enable the dynamic iris. The effect is to reduce the artifacts you get from a constantly changing iris opening while still achieving an extremely wide contrast. Would I use the JVC in a well lit room? Probably not. But it will tolerate some light in your viewing room for sports. For movies I still darken the room as much as possible. I have not seen a projector where I wouldn't say the same thing, however.
