Ports 1 & 7 on the USB3-HUB7C are BC 1.2 charge ports, so they will charge any connected USB devices that supports BC 1.2 charging abilities, and this will not be change even if the hub is connected to a macOS or Windows based system. Due to the hub having its own Power Supply, as long as the hub is on, it does not even have to be connected to a host system in order for ports 1 & 7 to charge connected devices. It will take different combinations of USB 2.0 and 3.0 drives as well including flash as well as normal hard drives (haven't tried with SSD's). This dock works with laptops with a Thunderbolt 3 port, or with a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and Power Delivery. To confirm the USB-C port function of your laptop, consult your user manual or contact your laptop’s manufacturer.

2: Do I need to install any drivers to use the dock?

For macOS and Windows 10 and 8.1, the operating system will download and install the necessary drivers automatically. For Windows 7 or Linux, please be sure your Intel Thunderbolt software is installed. You can contact our support team for confirmation.

3: What kind of cable should I use to connect the dock to my laptop?

It’s recommended that you use the included Thunderbolt 3 cable. If you need to use a different cable (due to loss etc.), then another Thunderbolt 3 cable would also be compatible.

This dock supports connection to two external monitors—one connected via the HDMI 2.0 port, and another via the USB-C Thunderbolt 3 downstream port. 5: Why does the dock feel warm?

When charging or transferring data at high speed, the dock’s temperature may increase. This heat is dissipated through the aluminum exterior, so it may feel warm to the touch. Don't worry, this is within the normal limits of the dock’s operation.

6: The charging output of the dock is listed as 85W, which is lower than my MacBook charger’s output. Will the dock still be able to power my MacBook?

This dock supports up to 85W of charging via the Thunderbolt 3 port on the back of the dock (indicated with a computer icon). It will charge slower than an 87W/96W MacBook charger, but it will still charge at a relatively high speed.

Q1: Will this dock work with any laptop? How do I make sure my laptop works with this dock？

A: This dock works with laptops with a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and Power Delivery. To confirm the USB-C port function of your laptop, consult your user manual or contact your laptop’s manufacturer. If your USB-C port doesn’t support DisplayPort Alt Mode, you won’t receive video output. If your USB-C port doesn’t support Power Delivery, the dock will work correctly with video and data (including audio and Ethernet), but would not be able to supply charging to your laptop.

Q2: Can I use my own USB-C cable to connect the dock to my laptop?

A: We recommend that you use the 3 ft USB-C cable that comes with the dock, however any other USB-C cable with support for USB 3.1 Gen 2 and 85W Power Delivery should work.

Question:	My external hard drive is a 4 tb . I want to use this to pulg my hard drive and my wireless headphones that use a usb Transmitter. Will this work
Answer:	No, the handle isn't attached. You have to insert it yourself and it is wobbly due to the way it attaches (via two small buttons).
