Answer:	Sorry, no it's not. It's permanently attached, and that's a fact. Also, when you flip the boom up, it auto mutes your mic which is a cool thing imo. Keep in mind like most wireless headsets the earphones are closed-back meaning they auto block a lot of noise. Most people seem to like this. If you want an open-back headset you'll need to look at some of their wired over the ear gaming sets. Many of those are open-back. People I spoke to on these said the auto quality was excellent.
