Product description

P. Diddy & Bad Boy Records We Invented The Remix We receive various CDs from the radio cores that we remanufacture. As a result, we are are now selling them! Our CDs are professionally resurfaced and are guaranteed to work or your money back! These listings are for the disc only and do not come with the case, album art, or inserts. If you have any questions about the CDs, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Don't believe the hype: Bad Boy Records did not invent the remix, the company has just done a good job using it. But the past is the past. Don't come here if you're looking for Puffy's earlier groundbreaking work with the likes of Jodeci and Super Cat. The "hits" here are of a more recent vintage, and if these remixes are any indication, it seems Diddy has reached the bottom of his bag of tricks. Screeching bells, Ghostface Killah, and the return of the MacK (Craig Mack) give G. Dep's "Special Delivery" (from last year's Child of the Ghetto) that hyped Bad Boy flavor of yore, but it's all downhill from there. Lines like "We used to drive the whole city wild" make listening to "I Need a Girl," Puffy's maudlin ode to ex-squeeze J. Lo, a cringe-inducing experience, and the producer-rapper's painfully weak rhyme ruins Mary J. Blige's "No More Drama." Most disturbing is Puffy's crass opportunism: Biggie's "voice from the grave" duet with Ashanti (on "Unfoolish") is downright creepy and ultimately unnecessary. --Rebecca Levine

The Dark Side of the Moon

Product description

PINK FLOYD / DARK SIDE OF MOON - Vinyl LP. The Dark Side of the Moon is the eighth album by the English rock band Pink Floyd. Originally released on 1 March 1973, on the label Harvest, it built on ideas explored in the band's earlier recordings and live shows, but departs from instrumental thematic by founding member Syd Barrett. The album explores themes including conflict, greed, the passage of time, and mental illness, the latter partly inspired by Barrett's deteriorating mental state. - Developed during live performances, an early version was premiered several months before recording began; new material was recorded in two sessions in 1972 and 1973 at Abbey Road in London. The group used some advanced recording techniques at the time, including multitrack recording and tape loops. Analogue synthesizers were prominent in several tracks, and snippets from recorded interviews with Pink Floyd's road crew and others provided philosophical quotations throughout. Engineer Alan Parsons was responsible for many distinctively notable sonic aspects and the recruitment of non-lexical singer Clare Torry. The album's iconic sleeve, designed by Storm Thorgerson, depicts a prism dispersing light into colour and represents the band's lighting, the record's thematic material, and keyboardist Richard Wright's "simple and bold" design request. •Stereo remastered album on heavyweight 180g vinyl •Original UK release date: March 1973 •Certified 15 times platinum in the US and 14 times platinum in the UK •Reached number one in the UK and the US •Topped Billboard Top LPs and Tapes and charted for 741 weeks from 1973 to 1988 •Pink Floyd's most commercially successful album and one of the best selling worldwide 2016 version Remastered from the original analogue tapes by James Guthrie, Joel Plante, and Bernie Grundman>

The Payback [2 LP]

Polydor / Umgd

Based on 269 reviews Check latest price

Product description

The Payback is a 1973 double album by James Brown. It was originally scheduled to become the soundtrack for the blaxploitation film Hell Up in Harlem. The Payback is considered a high point in Brown's recording career, and is now regarded by critics as a landmark funk album. It's revenge-themed title track, a #1 R&B hit, is one of his most famous songs and an especially prolific source of samples for record producers. Musically the album is largely based around cyclic grooves and jamming, but it also features departures into a softer soul-based sound on tracks like "Doing the Best I Can".
