Product description

Classic 1994 album repressed on colored vinyl with the Hand Over Fist b/w Bullet Train to Vegas 7" included, still at a great price. With every member cranking the intensity and volume up to 11, Yank Crime is an out-of-control muscle car of an album veering between short, sharp blasts of chaotic fury and longer multi-faceted compositions that let the band stretch out without losing their intensity. Features Rick Froberg on vocals/guitar (Hot Snakes, Pitchfork, OBITS), John Reis on guitar (Pitchfork, Rocket From The Crpyt, Hot Snakes, Sultans, Nightmarchers), Mike Kennedy on bass and Mark Trombino on drums.

American Gigolo Soundtrack [Import]

Universal I.S.

Based on 58 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Out of print in the U.S.! Originally released in 1980, the American Gigolo soundtrack, composed by legendary producer Giorgio Moroder, is best remembered for Blondie's hugely successful single 'Call Me' (which was not available on any of their albums, apart from compilations). The soundtrack's mastermind, Moroder, was ably assisted by Harold Faltermeyer and Keith Forsey, who both would go on to great success as producers and writers on their own (Faltermeyer's 'Axel F Theme' being the most significant). While the movie was a huge success, this soundtrack has taken on a life of it's own over the three decades since it's original release. Eight tracks.

American History X

Product description

The idea of hiring a former member of the Art of Noise to score a dramatic film about deadly racism seems as sensible as existing solely on pizza from Chuck E. Cheese. But Anne Dudley gave up on skittering electronic pop long ago (though not before doing some damage in collaboration with Frankie Goes to Hollywood). She conjured an offbeat vibe for The Crying Game, then earned an Oscar in 1997 for the score to The Full Monty. With American History X, Dudley takes her most serious turn, composing a suite of songs that reflect the foreboding, tragic plot of Tony Kaye's startling film. Using Tchaikovsky-like orchestration and a pristine boys' choir, she covers a range of emotions. A string section's squalls evoke high-pitched tension; a brass-led movement reflects sorrow and frustration; the soaring voices suggest redemption. It's a moving score, at once troubling and hopeful. --Richard Martin

American Justice - The John Lennon Assassination

LIONSGATE

Based on 6 reviews Check latest price

Product description

He was a troubled man whose boyhood fascination with one of the world's greatest stars turned into a psychotic obsession. The shots he fired spelled the end to whatever innocence was left in rock and roll. Mark David Chapman was one of John Lennon's biggest fans. Before he killed the iconoclastic superstar he made sure to get his autograph the last one Lennon ever signed. After he fired four shots from across the street as Lennon entered Manhattan's Dakota apartment building he waited calmly for police to arrest him. Six months later he was sentenced to 20 years to life. AMERICAN JUSTICE revisits the tragedy through interviews with many of the parties involved including Chapman's attorneys the arresting officer and in a rare taped interview from his cell Chapman himself. Forensic psychiatrists explore the twisted fantasy of Chapman's life where the line between celebrity worship and stalking blurred into indistinction. Dramatic footage of the crime scene and aftermath bring the incident to life and legal experts examine the possibility that Chapman will be freed he is eligible for parole in 2000. It's a comprehensive chronicle of the murder that stunned a generation.
