Cathe Friedrich Cardio Hits Step Aerobics Workout DVD - Three Advanced Step Workouts On One DVD

Product description

This DVD Contains Three of Cathe's Favorite Step Videos:

Power Max

PowerMax is regarded by most of our customers as one of Cathe's best step videos! This workout is an advanced 64-minute killer workout packed with tons of choreography. Some of the featured moves in this video include the drop squat, the 360, and the pendulum across. But it's not only the moves that make this video special, it's also Cathe's unique ability and cueing that seem to naturally make all the choreography flow together.

Step Fit

This is another all step video and is similar in intensity to all the other advanced step videos that Cathe is so famous for. This 71-minute workout is guaranteed to kick your heart rate into high gear and to make you sweat like never before. Some featured moves in this video include:

The Flying Angels Power Scissors Cathe's own version of a Macarena cool-down An extra-long (8 minute) stretch is at the end of this grueling workout.

Step Works

Step Works is the typical advanced all-step workout that Cathe is famous for. If you are looking for fun and challenging choreography, you will love this video. Step Works starts with an upbeat mini-step warm-up complete with stretches to prepare you for the workout. Segment one moves quickly with a medley mix of familiar moves used from previous videos but rearranged in new patterns to give them a refreshing twist. Segments two and three both contain cutting-edge choreography. Each of these segments features a more complex combination followed by a basic power combination to keep both the interest level and the heart rate elevated. The step cooldown is more dance/funk-oriented. It is thoroughly broken down for you to have fun with. The workout concludes with soothing hit music to let your mind and body free themselves of all tension.

STRONG by Zumba High Intensity Cardio & Tone 60 min Workout DVD Featuring Michelle Lewin

Zumba Fitness LLC

Based on 1 reviews Check latest price

Product description

ABOUT THE DVD: No, it’s not a dance class. And it’s not just another bootcamp. Discover the STRONG by Zumba High-Intensity Cardio and Tone 60 min workout, where every move is synced to a beat. Using only your bodyweight, transform your body as muscle conditioning, cardio and plyometric moves help you burn calories and tone your abs, arms, legs and glutes. ABOUT THE LIVE CLASS: Stop counting the reps. Start training to the beat. STRONG by Zumba combines body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio and plyometric training moves synced to original music that has been specifically designed to match every single move. Every squat, every lunge, every burpee is driven by the music, helping you make it to that last rep, and maybe even five more. In a one-hour class you will burn calories while toning arms, legs, abs and glutes. Plyometric or explosive moves like high knees, burpees, and jumping jacks are interchanged with isometric moves like lunges, squats, and kickboxing. STRONG by Zumba instructors change up the music and moves frequently to make sure you’re always challenged to the max. RESULTS THAT WILL GET YOU LEANER. FITTER. STRONGER. Fact: working out to perfectly synced music and moves pushes you harder to burn more calories.* Couple that with the afterburn (your body torching almost 50% more calories post-class!) and it's scientifically proven that you'll see - and feel - incredible results.** Consistently crushing your STRONG by Zumba workouts at least 3 times per week for just 12-weeks and eating a sensible diet can result in an overall leaner, more toned body with inches lost in the waist, abs, hips, thighs, and calves.*** * Eight healthy men and women participated in the indirect measurement of caloric expenditure during STRONG by Zumba classes with and without music through the use of a metabolic cart which analyzes continuous breath-by-breath VO2 and VCO2. The results were analyzed using paired T tests. Participants burned an average of 438 calories in a STRONG by Zumba class with music and an average of 390 calories in a STRONG by Zumba class without music. Participants burned on average 48 calories more with music in a STRONG by Zumba class than without. The highest caloric count a participant burned was 680 calories. ** Eight healthy men and women participated in Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC) to determine their post workout caloric expenditure. Participants burned an average of 75 calories in the 40 minutes after the STRONG by Zumba class, which is almost twice the calories burned at rest. It is noted that 40 minutes post-workout, a participant's body goes back to homeostasis - a resting state. *** Twenty-three healthy study participants (20 females, 3 males) attended 60-minute STRONG by Zumba classes 3 times per week for a period of 12-weeks and ate a sensible diet. On average, the participants lost 1.39 inches in the waist, 1.88 inches in the abs, 1.67 inches in the hip, 1.68 inches in the mid-thigh, and 0.23 inches in the calves.

  • It's not a dance class - it's revolutionary workout where every move is synced to a beat
  • 60 min high-intensity workout with a bonus 20 min workout
  • Burn more calories when you workout out to perfectly synced music
  • Proven to burn almost 2x the calories post-class
  • Try it at-home now and find a class in gyms everywhere

User questions & answers

Question: Do you complete one video per day or multiple videos
Answer: Hi Robyn. There are a few days throughout the 90 day program where you do 2 workouts - one of the major body parts (i.e. Legs) followed by Abs. There are about 12 days throughout the 90 when this occurs. The Abs workout isn't very long, so the time commitment is manageable on those days. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I hope you and Jody are working out together soon! ~Stephanie from X-TrainFit
Question: what kind of diets is envolved for this workout set ?How many Calories
Answer: It comes with a 15 page Nutrition booklet. It basically tells you to eat 5 times a day, Small meals... Don't go empty. He tells you what or what NOT to eat. Try to avoid Processed foods with the exception of whole grain breads and pasta. If you get hungry between meals, That's fine. Drink plenty of water. Don't eat fast, Eat on a schedule and keep a simple snack ready so you don't over eat. He tells you what you should or should not drink. Non fat milk, Coconut water, and Whey are good. But plain water is the best. Stay away from soda, even diet soda. The booklet comes with sample meals that look really good. The calories and fat vary from meal to meal. I see no meals over 800 calories. Breakfast Example: Nutty Greek Oatmeal, 703 Calories per serving, 75G carbs,13G Fiber, 38G Protein and 31G Fat. Lunch Example: Triple Stacker Turkey Sandwich, 400 calories per serving, 40G Carbs, 7G Fiber, 37G protein and 8 G Fat. Dinner Example: Fettuccini Avocado and Pork Chops, 575 calories per serving, 47.3G Carbs, 10.8G Fiber, 32.9G protein and 24.5G fat.Snacks range from Cottage cheese and Fruit to a Berry Almond Smoothie to a Cheesy Muffin. I don't follow the specific diet as I'm working with my Doctor. I mainly drink Muscle milk, lactose free protein drinks with one banana each for breakfast and lunch. I use Almond milk. I stopped all Dairy and cheese. I also stopped eating breads. I do have the occasional potato. But I don't go crazy with toppings. I eat a lot of salad and eat a lot of chicken and lean meats. My addiction was sod. I would drink 6 diet cola's a day. I stopped drinking all soda since April 1. I also stopped drinking anything caffeinated. I still needed the taste of coffee so I went to decaf so I could at least trick my taste buds. I use the RIPT90 workout in conjunction with my Bowflex Elliptical, BowFlex Dumbbells. Since April 1, I have lost 31 pounds. I hope this helps with your question. We bought a big bag of Almonds. Whenever I get the urge for sweets like chocolates, I grab a handful of almonds. It helps a lot.
Question: Do you need to have weights to do this workout. All I have is 20lb dumbells and a 20lb kettle bell also a few resistance bands
Answer: I am sorry I can't help you. I have not reviewed these DVD's as of yet. I would say, if your bands are various resistances, then you should be fine and also if you are in pretty good shape and can start out with 20's. From what I read on the site, the only thing that needs modification from weights is the pull ups, but I am hearing that this can even be modified with the bands. I myself have varying levels of weights so I can always progress with a program, but again, not 100% sure if this program lets you start with what you have and takes it from there.
Question: I don't have a pull up bar, do they show an alternative
Answer: Hey There, yes, there is an alternative to pull ups. The modification shown is using a resistance band attached/wrapped around a secure, elevated object. Hope this helps. ~Stephanie from X-TrainFit
Question: Is this like insanity? i wanted something more difficult than les mills..i have 80lbs to lose at 23 years old
Answer: I have never observed Insanity. TapouT XT is considered intense for many individuals. If you follow the meal plan (or one similar in marco & micronutrients), then you should experience positive results, which may include fat loss/lower percentage of body fat, increased strength with lean muscle gain, endurance, increased V02 max, and agility. Everyone responds differently, and no one can guarantee a specific result. Consulting with a certified personal trainer, nutritionist, and/or medical provider can help you in your individualized plan & goals. (Personal note: I lost the 10 lbs I desired and observed many positive results after my 1st 90 day round with this program 3 years ago.) I wish you success in your fitness endeavors.
Question: How many days are in the nutrition plan
Answer: I don’t know I never used it because I figured it didn’t matter as much.
Question: how long are the workouts
Answer: They average 45 minutes, but most are longer at just under an hour. The quick abs is 20 minutes. So worth it though, and it doesnt feel like a long drawn out workout.
Question: I can only workout 5 days, weekends off. It may take longer a little longer than 90 days to finish, but will I still get close to the same results
Answer: Yes! One of the 6 days is just yoga and I wouldn't always do it. I still got great results and do did my husband and he only did it a few days a week.

User questions & answers

Question: Is there a lot of jumping required? I’m recovering from a foot fracture and can’t jump at all. Thank you
Answer: The videos have 4 different girls doing the same workout just at different levels so you can pick which every level fits you. I like it a lot!
Question: does the dvd comes in spanish also
Answer: Whatever you need for your ability. You can also use resistance bands. I personally have hand weights/Dumbbells from 3-15lbs that I use. For the most part I use the 8 and 10 lb weights the most but it does depend on the muscle group.
Question: I am looking for something that will help me lose as well as tone, would this set work? Has anyone seen results from it
Answer: Hi Jenny. Stephanie from X-TrainFit here. The only equipment needed is dumbbells and/or resistance bands. Yoga mat is recommended but not required. There are some stability ball options shown, but one is not required. I hope this helps.
Question: This is for woman’s or for man too
Answer: I just finished the first week and not much jumping at all. For the very few parts that do include a jump type movement there is a person doing the modified version. I did insanity and it killed my knees, this wasn't hard on them at all. It is actually very low impact. A little too low for me. I think I need something between this and insanity. Thus wasn't enough to feel like a good workout for me, but insanity was too much.

User questions & answers

Question: Approximately how much floor space is needed to do these workouts? I have a small room to to my exercise in and don't have a great deal of space
Answer: I used the area in front of my computer. You need about a yoga mats length. You can totally do it in a small place. I'm six feet, and didn't have trouble with my little area.

Question: has anybody lost any weight with this program
Answer: I find this program fun but I have done all P90X programs, T25 and to be honest while this is fun I found I loss muscle tone. I am not sure why maybe it's the diet and compared to the other programs for me this may have not worked with my body. I did enjoy it but I need to tone back up. I think it's great workout for a change but for some reason I lost muscle tone in my body.
Question: most of the negative reviews are about customer service, but does it work
Answer: are you currently doing a program? how active are you? Piyo isn't like any other program. If your used to crazy cardio, running. this isn't that. if your used to yoga, this isn't that. If your used to lifting weights at the gym....this isn't that. Even bodyweight exercises like insanity don't provide what Piyo does. Thats whats so great about piyo. I have been taking piyo live classes for about a year. I became a certified instructor a few months ago because I love this format. Its great for beginners because its low impact and really takes you through the moves and modifications and has great progression. If you are more active, this may seem slow the first few weeks. (20 minute workouts) the reason for this, is because most people don't have the wrist and joint strength to be in these positions for longer... You still get a great workout, work on flexibility, range of motion, strengthens you from the inside out so you REALLY have to give it the full 60 days before you can see any outside transformation. This is a TOTAL BODY wellness program. If you are looking for increased wrist strength, upper body strength with defined sexy shoulders and arms, without having to go to gym and lift heavy, this is a great addition to your regimen. About the Actor

Before there was Zumba, Tae Bo, Spinning or even Step Aerobics, fitness video pioneer Cathe Friedrich recognized the need to provide a simple, flexible, affordable and motivating way for Americans to exercise and stay fit. Nearly thirty years and over 200 home exercise workouts later, hundreds of thousands of people have credited Cathe Friedrich for helping them to transform their bodies and their lives with her videos and television shows. Like going through life with a friend, Cathe s followers have grown in their workouts as she has learned and expanded her video offerings, staying focused on her three guiding principles: Professionalism, Passion, and Quality. Cathe is often credited with being the first to bring advanced fitness videos to the home exerciser and helped to shatter the theory that only celebrities could star in fitness videos. As a long-time Certified Group Fitness Instructor, Cathe has taught countless classes at her New Jersey health club and has helped train many of today s top instructors. Since 1986, Cathe has been certified through the American Council on Exercise. Additional specialty fitness certifications include: Indoor Cycling, Body Pump, Kickboxing, Boxing, Prenatal Fitness, Resist-A-Ball, YogaFit, and more. In 2011, Cathe was inducted into the Fitness Hall of Fame along side other profound leaders, such as Arnold Schwartzenegger, Richard Simmons and Kathy Smith. As a leading innovator in the home exercise video industry, she founded Step N Motion Videos in 1988 and in 1989, created one of the first step aerobic videos. Cathe continues to produce fun, intense, and challenging workouts for all body types and fitness levels. Her award-winning workouts have been featured in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Dallas News, Fox Business News, NBC Nightly News, CBS News, QVC and the Philadelphia Inquirer. Health and fitness writers have published articles about her in Shape, Oxygen, Self, Health, Fit, Consumer Digest and Fitness magazines. While appearing on Fox Business News, Cathe shared the story of how she began in the fitness business. At 16, she took an aerobics class and three weeks later, Cathe was asked to teach it and was hooked. A few years later, she was teaching a creative movement class at a fitness studio on the top floor of Carnegie Hall, where she used fourteen inch benches as part of her workout. At the same time, Step Reebok was launching what is now known as step aerobics to the world. Cathe incorporated step into her philosophy, creating her first video, Step N Motion One, which was also one of the first and most influential step aerobic videos of its time. Today, her fitness empire includes all types of workouts and is one of the largest privately-owned fitness video libraries in the world. Collage Video, a source for exercise videos since 1987, says this about Cathe on their web site: Since the early 1990s, Cathe Friedrich s videos have set the standard for challenging workouts. Cathe Friedrich s workout video technique is excellent; her cuing style is very direct. These exercise videos will challenge even the elite athlete!
