A Note From The Editor...

Four years ago while trekking with friends through a remote part of the Amazon, we stumbled across an old hut. In the corner of the dwelling buried under some fallen palms, we found a metal case, sealed shut by years of rust. Intrigued, we carefully opened it. Inside was a collection of notebooks, journals, and various sketchbooks-all incredibly well preserved given the environment. We didn’t realize it then, but we had stumbled across the lifetime’s work of an unknown artist and adventurer.

As we carefully leafed through the delicate pages, we discovered a treasure trove of adventuring knowledge, as well as many sketches and colored illustrations depicting adventures from around the world. The case and its contents were duly shipped back home, where it has been painstakingly restored and edited together over the past 2 years to create this: The Lost Book of Adventure.

The identity of the adventurer remains unknown, but alongside the writings and drawings was a letter that appears to have been written for the benefit of two young family members. Its message is clear-be good and be adventurous.

Hopefully it will inspire us all to step into the wild and live a life of adventure, too.
