Answer:	The blades do not lock like a switchblade where a button is pushed to open. But they each click to a "semi-locked" position when fully opened.

The original Imperial Schrade went bankrupt in 2004, the intellectual rights, but not the factories were bought by Taylor Brands LLC of Tennessee. Who offshored production. In 2016 Smith & Wesson’s Battenfeld Technologies division bought Taylor Brands. Not sure of Smith & Wesson’s intentions on resuming any USA production.

Answer:	It's called a castration/spey blade--depending on maker My great-grandfather used the one on his old Case Stockman for castrating hogs. I myself use it for cutting plastic films used to wrap many products. It can also be used to skin sheathing off wire--for the past few years, my grandfather has used a bander for castrating livestock---rendering this blade obsolete for the intended purpose. My advice--don't buy these Chinese ones, buy a good used American made knife for the same price--I paid $5 for the used 1970s USA made Imperial Stockman I have. The Chinese ones are very poor quality compared to Schrade products made in the USA or Ireland. I've got an Uncle Henry version I got as a gift of this I never even took out of the box.

Answer:	If it costs over a hundred dollars and is 3 inch long look carefully it might be made in the USA. There are some really good knives made in Guatemala by a company that was originally German -- they are made in America ... but Central not North.

Answer:	I'm no expert but I use carborundum on any type of blade. I think any type of sharpening system will work on any blade but like I said I'm no expert

Answer:	This is a small pen knife. Closed it is 2 1/2" and 4 1/2" with longest blade open. I LOVE this knife! Fits perfectly in the watch pocket in Levis! Hope this helps.

Answer:	No it doesn't. The blades just fold open and closed but doesn't lock in place. Locking knifes normally only have one blade in them.

Answer:	You can set it to playing airing down but it wasn't very accurate when i tried it and it picks up on every twist of the wrist so you have to watch the swing and twist movements together.

Answer:	It looks like they are making them in China these days like everything else my original one was made in Germany witch they make good cutlery. But everything now of days it is in china to reduce labor costs but I think if Trump gets his way he may force these companies to bring manufacturing back to the good old USA or you are going to pay more for Chinese goods if they do not level the playing field and make economically not feasible for companies to continue to manufacture over there.

Answer:	the blade is 2 3/16" in length it is a very handy pocket knife if you run into a small job to use it for. Which I have found on numerous occasions but if you are looking for something larger then you may need differrent knife for that job. this knife comes with a very good sharp edge on it and holds its edge well and will resharpen well. but as in everything you evaluate it depends on the type of job you have in mind for this knife or any other knife if this is the right tool for the job the only other thing I can add about this knife is that it is easy to carry around with you and you really do not notice you have it while you are carrying it around and you might consider that one element.
