Answer:	Hi David,No, the GLS Audio ES-57 (and ES-58 & ES-58-S) mics do not require phantom power or a battery. They are "dynamic" mics. Generally a "condenser" mic would require phantom power or a battery. If your system provides phantom power it will not damage the GLS Audio microphones. They will still function 100% perfect with or without phantom power. This may not be true for all mics, so be careful with other brands when supplying phantom power. Answer:	Anything you point it - it records... Just as long as you have recording equipment.
Question:	How is the intonation on the recorder
Answer:	Off axis rejection is significantly higher (rejects more off-axis sound sources) than the Shure SM57's I use in micing instruments in a church application. I personally prefer the GLS over the SM-57 for feedback rejection, however I do run them through a tube preamp (Behringer Ultragain Pro MIC2200) to get the sound quality and gain equivalent to the SM-57's. With this combination I think they sound amazing for the price. I've had no issues related to durability, but my gear isn't getting hauled around to tough environments. I would recommend a good road case if you're dragging these all over. At this price they have to have some compromises in build quality, but any mic can break if it's abused, dropped, etc.

Answer:	Yes, I've used the Hoppe's One Piece RC22P Carbon Fiber cleaning rod to clean my 22 cal High Standard pistol & Glock 37 (45 GAP). It is an excellent cleaning accessory. Now, about the infant mortality issue, any cleaning tips for any cleaning rod could be a danger if swallowed by an infant or toddler. So, how many different dummies are allowing their infant/toddler anywhere near any gun stuff. I mean are they brain dead or just inbred idiots?

Answer:	you can use it on all pistols without a problem... it is way to short for a rifle unless it's an Sbr and even then probably too short for anything over 7.5"
