Answer:	I have 4 of these and they work great! Steel ends with heavy rubber padding- no scratches. The locks are very reliable.
Question:	How about capacity
Answer:	This bar has a small bungie cord that holds the two ends together. The bar will not IMHO place any undo pressure on the seat post or handle bar yoke. If course if you over tighten the the bike rack bar against the cross bar, the pressure would increase. I would not hesitate to use this cross bar. Ours have worked very well.
