Having used one with adhesive strip (from the hospital) and one purchased from Amazon without the adhesive strip, I would say that the adhesive strip would not help much because it still would move around a little bit. So the question is: where is your rope connection on your boat? High or low? Speed boats probably would not need it.

Answer:	It actually depends on how you have the sprayer adjusted. A mist would not go as far as a stream. If you are using acid I would be very cautious that it did not fall back on you. I myself normally use mine for oil build up on concrete areas. Using a strong acid and normally having the spray pattern adjusted to about mid way it sprays about 4 feet with no problem at all. As this is a pump sprayer the less pressure in the tank the less distance the spray will travel. Having used mine many times now I can make an educated guess, If you had the tank pressured up to max and had the nozzle adjusted to a stream and were using a thin liquid, with no wind I would say you could spray about seven feet high.
