Spray Application Tips

Dispense (2-2.5 oz) of spray solution into gun solution cup for the average person (150 lbs). Do not oversaturate skin. Keeping gun 6 inches from skin, spray in a smooth sweeping motion. (12-14 inches when spraying face, hands and feet) Any unused solution may be stored in an airtight container and reused within a 24-hour period. Always clean gun thoroughly & allow to air dry.

Solution Safety

HANDLING SAFETY: Avoid Contact with Eyes and Sensitive Mucus Membranes. The use of nose filters, eye shields, protective under garments and lip balm are recommended.

Do not pour through metal funnel, stir with metal spoon, or store in metal container.

Spray Results

The DHA (active ingredient which interacts with the amino acids within the skin cells producing a color change) will begin to activate within 2-4 hours after application. Do not bathe, shower or sweat for at least 8-hours after application. Avoid chlorinated pools for 18-hours. Brown cosmetic bronzers will wash away during first shower.

Answer:	Hello Natalie, please contact us, and we can get you in touch with a USA based Maximist Technician, who can help you to properly adjust and set your gun. You can also review the information in your product booklet if you prefer for adjusting your gun.You need to fine tune the adjustment at the trigger dial, to product a smooth even spray. And you also need to have the correct spray application technique. Do not spray back and forth over a freshly sprayed wet area, as you need to let solution absorb a bit before respraying an area. So you do a spray pass, then move over and hit the next unsprayed area - covering the entire body with one thin coat. Then come back and do a second thin overlapping coat.We will be glad to help you, if you message us.

Answer:	yes, the hose will blow air only, when removed from the gun, to facilitate client drying.

Answer:	It depends on what type of solution you purchase I usually buy Novell and it lasts about a week and a half. I would have to disagree with the 3 days or every other day but I guess it depends on how dark you want to be and what your using. This starter kit is a great purchase though I absolutely love it

Answer:	The filter in your unit can be washed gently by hand and air dryer. It would not need to be replaced unless it becomes torn or damaged. Your spare parts kit contains one extra.If you still find you need a filter, you can purchase the filter media at any Pet Store locally (Petsmart etc) - the material is standard foam material used for Fish Aquariums and Pond Filters. Color may differ, but it works the same. Just purchase the Foam Filter material in sheets, rolls or packs, and cut to fit.

Question:	I just purchased the maxi and I like it but, i am having an issue with the gun. It seems to come out splotchy I noticed like maybe I applied to much
Answer:	This can happen for a few different reasons:-Make sure skin is clean , dry and product free. With no oil lotion, soap or exfoliate residue on skin that can hamper absorption.-Make sure gun is correctly adjusted per product booklet. -Do not spray back and forth over a wet sprayed area. Rather make one pass, move on to the next area, slightly overlapping edges a bit only. Two coats of solution at one oz each works well, to minimize missed areas, but allo good solution absorption. Spray the entire body with one once, then come back and do a second coat of one oz.-If you are applying more then 2 oz to entire body, you are applying to much solution, so readjust gun or technique.-Adjust the flow knob on the gun (see your product book) make sure it is set for a smooth even soft flow, if it comes out to fast your can adjust it down a bit toward the MINUS setting. If it comes out to slow, with no solution spraying out, or spits and sputters, you have it adjusted down to low.If you still need help, please message us through Amazon messages, we have technicians onhand, that can speak with you to help you correctly adjust your gun. Answer:	Heavy application causes it to drip. Be sure that you do not hold it too close or that you dont put another layer on until the previous one has dried. It was my first time using one. I also had my boyfriend do my back. He did a great job every time. You can turn it any direction. I had to adjust the air when i first got it but had no issues after i figured out how to do it. I really hope that helps. Im really picky and i love this product.

Question:	is this a gradual tan builder or just a one time use and wash off
Answer:	It is equivalent to the spray tans you get at tuning salon. I took a lot of time to find a product that was much the same. It lasts for a week and you can build on it if you want it darker. However the base of the first spray is a very nice color! There is no orange just a nice color brown. Love this product!
Question:	How many ounces is this product
Answer:	I think it's like 2 to 3 ounces maybe. It's not a huge bottle but lasts me awhile, I bought 3 bottles and that lasts me a year. I spray it onto a makeup sponge and then use that to apply to my face and neck over my moisturizer, avoids streaking. I use every few days or so, less in the summer and more in the fall/winter.

Answer:	The machine is quite loud. You can talk to the person you're spraying/spraying you, but it would be difficult to talk to others around. It sounds just like a small compressor. The quality of the machine makes up for it though.
Question:	Does this system spray thicker solutions okay or does it over heat the system? I will be doing mobile tanning with a thicker based solution
Answer:	I have used several types of solutions and never had an overheating problem. It’s a very heavy duty type machine and I would be surprised if it would overheat.

Question:	What is the advantage of having three spray guns? I’m trying to decide between the Xena and the maxi light
Answer:	This gives you back up guns, in case one gets clogged etc while you are spraying and you need to grab a new gun. Some techs also use one gun for Prep Spray, one for Moisturizer spray, and one for solution. Or you may have different solutions in each, for spraying within the same spray sessions/day. Guns should not be used for long term storage, as the solution is exposed to oxygen when in the cup , when attached to the gun. Which can degrade solution with time.
Question:	Does the spray gun allow for contouring
Answer:	No, the gun doesn't allow for contoruing
Question:	Does it allow other spray patterns other than vertical and horizontal? Circular
Answer:	This system only allows vertical or horizontal - The units with the Maximist Metal pro gun allow vertical, horizontal, or a smaller rounded circular pattern (in airbrush mode only)
Question:	How bad is overspray on this? Does it get all over the walls and ceiling of the room
Answer:	There can be a lot of overspray if you don't adjust the spray setting on the gun. I only spray inside the tent, so there's not worry about overspray getting on the walls etc.

Answer:	Disconnect it and soak it in warm to hot water..

Question:	Is this easy to use on yourself
Answer:	Yes absolutely! Have one of the mitts available to smooth out any spots. Practice with plain water first to get the mist as light and consistent as possible! I found turning the dial exactly to the middle was perfect. You may need someone to check your back. And ALWAYS run a few minutes of warm water through it when your done to clean it out! I have used mine dozens of times and absolutely no clogs!
Question:	Will this stain my white shower walls if i spray in there
Answer:	No, just spray them down immediately when you are done. Of course this may change depending on different tanning solutions. I've never had a problem, though.
Question:	What liquid can I use with this Machine
Answer:	I used several different brands but ended up LOVING the results of Norvell Premium Sunless Tanning Solution - Venetian One. Just make sure you run the machine with a little warm soapy water for a few seconds and then again with just warm water to clean it thoroughly after use! Trust me it will last for many many tans to come!

Question:	How much does this weigh? Is it good for mobile spray tan companies
Answer:	Not sure of actual weight. However, I’ve taken it to many friends houses very easily. And it’s very quick & easy to set up. Best investment ever. I would doing a mobile tanning company on the go should definitely be NO problem. Go make that money!
Question:	How long does tan last? Is it waterproof
Answer:	When you use the primer (which is included) the spray tan will last about 4 days. However, you shower first then spray primer & tan solution the you CANNOT SHOWER FOR ABOUT 24 hrs. And that should last for the four days. NO SPRAY TAN IS WATERPROOF. Only tanning BEDS are waterproof. All this is the same for Tanning Salons. It’s a great investment & tanning. Just like the salon but only in the comfort of your home & much cheaper.
